Now for mtc's lunch update . . . the beef tomato sauce concoction was a success . . . a piece of beef, can of tomato sauce, some spices and a bay leaf . . . . not too shabby . . . and ps, I love that InstantPot . . . Smiley Happy

Please know when my mom would make it, it would involve no less than 24 hours of preparation . . . not exactly like mom's but I'll take it!

@momtochloe    YUMMY!  a warm lunch of something would be delicious on this wooly day!

I'm not sure if it was across state or not, but a couple years ago we switched from the machines where you flip the lever to DUMB paper ballots!

You have to get the ballot and a marker...WAIT for a 'secret' station to color in your circles....and then feed it into the machine ....and hope it accepts it!  Lines for everything!

Last year the lines for the marking stations were so long...I just started marking it on my purse and got yelled at!  LOL  ...LOUDLY!  I told her I don't care who sees who I am voting for...but was admonished NOT to do this and WAIT!

The machine spits out more papers than it eats...as it is difficult to tell which way to feed it in!  And if the markings aren't clear enough...it rejects and you have to look for a circle not completely filled in!

IMHO it is the STUPIDEST change!  I could just see the potential for..."Was the circle fully colored in?"  "If not...what was the 'intent' of the coloring?".   LOL  Remember hanging chads?

You can't mess up a lever!

@ChiliPepper   Did you switch to paper too?

Oh goodness @RespectLife can you hear me laughing all the way by you? . . . good heavens I am so with you, I would be filling that form out in line if that had been an option (not allowed in our polling place, you only got your ballot if a booth was open).

Yes, we use paper too but the machines seemed to work well.

Now that my city has voting booths in the Voter Registration office, we can vote absentee in person vs just absentee.  Absentee voting opened 9/23.  I voted while I was on vacation since Tuesdays are my worst days (honestly every day is the worst day), but I have a 7:30 and a 4:30 meeting so it makes it a challenge for me on Tuesdays.

I have 2 more meetings added to tomorrow.  What the heck???  I have a series of 30 minute meetings that are going to make me lose my mind trying to transition.

I will need my vitamins tomorrow.  LOL

And t hanks for reminding me it's THankful Thursday.  I am thankful for WC#2 because he is one of the smartest people I know and he gave me some good ideas to run to ground for my meeting tomorrow.

And speaking of the WC's, WC#1 was back from his off site meeting and he had a really great time and really is enjoying being on this project.  I told him he would, he just needs to listen to me more ;o)  It helped that he got to stay in the hotel they were meeting in and they fed them well and boozed them up.  LOL  They have a lot of work ahead of them, so they need to prime them for what is to come.

It is Thursday...and I am THANKFUL!  Not so much for the cold and the rain...but for blessings all around!

I got our project manager out the door  a bit ago w/ a 4 mil bid for a road project.  I doubt we will get it...but we try!!  They open the bids on public projects pretty fast and I haven't heard from him yet...which isn't a good sign.  Could also be cuz he had about 4 hours sleep in 4 days getting this bid ready and he is passed out cold somewhere!

I just wish they would give me more than 15 mins. to total up 27 pages with 20 line items per page!

I sure don't want to be the one that makes an adding error and messes it up!

Our bids are the same way.  We are literally changing things last minute as the SUV is in front of the building loading the boxes and the one box with the page we are changing is in the lobby waiting for the page to come off the printer.  I am so glad I don't work on proposals anymore.  Pricing is a thankless job.  They never like your numbers for some reason.  LOL  I'm like, this is what it costs!!!

Whee Hee  IT'S FRIDAY !!!

I'm turning into one of those ppl who just can't wait for the weekends!

@ChiliPepper

LOL   I didn't see that pic but someone uses that line at the bottom of all their posts.

It's true, ya know!  TRUE!

Well, everybody...what I think might be the final house plans went back to the builder this morning.

I had a MAJOR disappointment as the Architect stated there is no way they can put in my sky lights with the roof lines this house is going to have.  Because of the size of the ranch and the roof pitch...they would be extremely high 'tunnels' he called them.

Bummer.  I NEED my natural sunlight!  So I added as many windows as I could.  It never dawned on me that a ranch...is basically one big box....very few outter walls to put windows on!  So much of the house is internal!

Hoping we will get a giant hole dug in the ground b4 the snow flies!

Oh @momtochloe

How lovely!  My sis was here this week to work and pretty much emptied Hobby Lobby!  She has no store near her in NJ.

She got the most lovely sprays, and inserts for her decorations!  She had to ship the box home since she flew!  LOL

I forbid myself to buy anything for the house but I SO wanted to make a trip to see all the beautiful things they have out already!

Oh @RespectLife I am just obsessed with that flocked tree as for me it so looks like fresh fallen snow and then those lights . . . oy . . . I would never have a need to have one of those in my house but I find it just gorgeous . . . good heavens I haven't been to Hobby Lobby in a very long time but they have such lovely pieces . . . that's hiliarious that your sister shipped things home, what a great idea . . . tee hee!
