Things have settled down with Rodney. He continues to improve. A lot of extra help is no longer needed from friends, although I am sure that the family appreciates your continued prayers.
When I recently asked my friend about any arrests regarding what happened to Rodney, she said the police told her not to talk about it with anyone, so I have not asked her anything more about it.
Thanks so much for your concern and prayers.
I'm so pleased to know that Rodney is progressing and healing. I am sure the poor guy still has a long road ahead of him...we will continue to pray! Thanks for updating us!
I know when it happened to the guy that used to work here...it took over three years for the beast that did it to him to go to trial. His family also was not suppose to speak of it as the DA was building a case and needed all details private.
Our thoughts and prayers are truly with them all. Such a horrible tragedy to endure. Sadly, the recovery and the legal process are long.
(((Rodney)))

Okay, so it's not a puppy...but I thought I would share this pic of Condi with you all...since I can! You know me and electronic operations! OIL and WATER! LOL
When I was downsizing Christmas decor last year, she stole this Rudolph out of the donation pile. Ripped its head off and has been gumming the body of headless Rudolph ever since. She holds it in her mouth for hours...moaning from time to time.
I guess it is her 'blankie'.

Oh @RespectLife this is so funny! . . . I love seeing a dog with their favorite pal (albeit one missing a head) . . . ![]()
When we first brought Chloe home, she was just so sweet and docile and never showed an interest in toys. One day I came home from shopping and had new toys for the other two dogs and didn't think twice about it . . . until I handed out said toys out and there was nothing for her . . . she literally climbed up on me and let out a wail I couldn't believe she could produce! Of course I immediately jumped back in the car and bought a toy for my baby which she promptly claimed as her own and it was a love fest ever since . . . I had to mend that thing so many times and I finally had to hide it because it was just a mess but I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. I still have it . . . ![]()
ps, Condi is one beautiful puppy! . . . ![]()

Totally understandable.
I'm so glad he's doing better.

About that dead battery..........can't you just open up the thermostat and put in new? Ours went dead once since we've had the latest one installed, and I figured it was going to be a disaster, never having seen this happen. (We're on our second Honeywell thermostat).
I looked at the owner's manual for it and it turned out to be an easy fix, not even requiring a service call. I don't remember what kind of battery or batteries were needed but I seem to recall using a standard household type. Might be worth calling an HVAC company and asking someone there for a possible self-solution, if you don't have an owner's manual. Good luck!

Oh I am sorry @novamc1 that I didn't make my situation clearer. I was able to install the batteries myself (without practically ripping it off the wall but that's another story in itself) but I would have appreciated a heads up from said thermostat that it was running out of juice . . . all is well today . . . ![]()
Thank you for your help my friend!

When my house gets up to 80, it takes hours to cool down. It is a 3 story townhouse with a cathedral ceiling the master bedroom.
That ceiling seemed like a good idea at the time. Even with a ceiling fan, it has it's moments.

I have to check what size batteries my thermostat takes. I'm not sure I have replacements hanging around.
Between CO2, smoke alarms, and remotes, you need to have an entire collection of batteries on hand at all times.

Today is National S'mores Day, and National Lazy Day.
So, be lazy & drink a S'mores martini!!!
S'mores Martini
Per Serving:
2 oz. Marshmallow vodka
1 oz. Chocolate liqueur
1 oz. Creme de Cacao
2 oz. Cream or half & half
1 oz. Chocolate, melted
1 Graham cracker
3 Marshmallows
Crush the graham cracker into a shallow bowl using your hands. It's OK if there are some chunkier pieces.
Place the chocolate into a second shallow bowl and microwave for a few seconds until melted. Dip the rim of a martini glass into the chocolate and then into the graham cracker pieces.
Refrigerate for a few minutes to set.
Add the marshmallow vodka, chocolate liqueur, creme de cacao and cream to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, shake well and pour into the prepared glass.
Spear the marshmallows on the end of a skewer or long fork and hold over an open flame for a couple of seconds until the ends get toasted. Thread them onto a cocktail pick and garnish the drink.
