So far, I have only seen news stories stating the only Instant Pot being recalled is the oval shaped multi-cooker. The Gem something. None of the actual pressure cookers have had a problem yet. It has been very misleading because the news people keep showing every type of Instant Pot as they introduce the story. Once you listen to the actual information, they tell you which specific model is the problem. ABC news even said the pots in question were sold exlusively at Walmart.

You are correct, @ThinkOutsidetheBox

Has no one seen the news?  These Instant Pots are burning up. They are giving out the model numbers so you can call the company for a refund.  It's been on our news for a few days.

@luvmybeetleThe one appliance that was recalled was NOT a Pressure cooker. It was a multi cooker without a pressure cooker function.

Correct.

Re: Instant Pot

[ Edited ]

@ThinkOutsidetheBox - It's interesting that the Instant Pot that was recalled was only sold at Walmart.  I purchased an Oster extra large counter top convection oven at Walmart and it was the worst performing oven ever.  The model was listed on Oster's website as only being sold at Walmart.  It was the single drop down door model, not the double door one QVC is selling although except for the doors the features were the same.  I took the first oven back as it burnt everything.  The second oven did the same thing after a few months.  Walmart wouldn't do anything for me.  I contacted Oster and it took 4 months for me to receive my refund check.  Maybe companies sell lesser quality items to Walmart - I wonder.

No, they are not.  There is one pot model with problems and it is not the regular Instapot.  It doesn't even look the same.

@Noel7

It’s Instant Pot.

The Instant Pot is widely available.  There really is no need for QVC to sell it.  I prefer my Cooks Essentials pressure cooker which came in beautiful colors.

Not where I live. Sold out everyplace but Target and even then most are sold out or only 1 or 2 in stock

My WalMart has it. I got mine from Amazon and so did my sister. I already have a Wolfgang Puck 6qt, my first, and an 8qt Elite. I use all three at various times. I have a corned beef to do next.
