Re: Help..needed Christmas Salad,…delicious, Christmas goodies, easy to make……

@Kachina624

Great recipe, I made it frequently in the 60's and 70's, I always use lime gelatin, everything else the same.

When I was making it zero sugar jello wasn't available.

Now I would make it low-fat and zero sugar. I used K'sons small curd cottage cheese.

@Puppy Galore.  One of these days, I'm going to experiment with using strawberry or cherry Jello and chopped fruit.  The pink would be pretty for Christmas and other occasions.

I think origionally this was my grandmother's bridge club recipe quite long ago.

@Kachina624    I remember making that cottage cheese fruit salad when I was a little girl.

We ate it as a dessert.

I sometimes used cherry jello and drained fruit cocktail or whatever flavor of jello and canned fruit we had on hand.  I also used an electric mixer and made it smooth.

I haven't made it in ages.  You brought back some old memories.

@Kachina624 OMG -- this recipe is AMAZiING. I made it with all no sugar or natural juice products. Because I could not find a tub of no sugar cool whip, I used a full can of no sugar (keto friendly) RediWhip. I plan to take  this dish to Thanksgiving dinner next year as I think it would be a nice addition to the traditioinal Thanksgiving foods. Too late to do that this year as I already bought scads of groceries for two other dishes, much more complicated to make, that I plan to take.
