Experienced Cooks, I Have a Question!

I am making fruitcake cookies , and it calls for flour but doesn’t say self-rising or all- purpose. Which would be best to use? Thank you!

Anytime the flour is not described it is PLAIN flour.

Always use all-purpose unless the recipe indicates otherwise. Self rising flour has baking powder added.😊

@MagnoliaMs  All purpose flour.    A recipe Will state if it uses self-rising.

All purpose flour, as others have stated.

@MagnoliaMs  Yes, AP flour. And fruitcake cookies sound interesting. Let us know how they turn out.

Well, nobody can say this thread is argumentative.

I concur...all purpose.  Don't think I've ever seen a cookie recipe using self raising flour.

Re: Experienced Cooks, I Have a Question!

Usually self rising flour is used for biscuits and the such, never for cookies. All purpose flour is it! I always buy unbleached all purpose flour.
