Use all-purpose flour unless the recipe indicates otherwise.

 

Also, as an aside use unsalted butter if the recipe calls for sweet butter.

I concur...all purpose.  Don't think I've ever seen a cookie recipe using self raising flour.

Unless there's a specific flour called for in the recipe,then used plain flour.
