There seems to be a problem with the website this morning.  Posts are incomplete; at least mine are.  Anyone else noticing these glitches?

My Grandpa used to make that for us for lunch.  Now I am hungry for it.  Can you even buy smoked dried beef anymore?

When beef wasn't available, we just used those small packets of thin, sliced ham which sell for around 60 cents at Aldi's.

 I recall dried beef used to be sold in small jars.  Hopefully, someone who knows may post and tell us where we can get it.

Stouffers still sells it.

But it reminds me of opened beef or chicken sandwiches  as a kid.  We ate at a local chain in Pittsburgh PA  called King's  and they served open faced hot roast beef sandwiches with gravy  and french fries with gravy over it. so fantastic.  Also kings had hot apple  pie with cinnamon ice cream. LOrd god it was good

I'm not a fan of SOS, but my daughter and husband love it.  One of our local diners serves it -- and it seems to be a popular dish!

My mom used to make it all the time, it was my dads favorite dinner!

All I remember about it was that the gravy would go kind of gray looking.  I never was a fan of it.

Love creamed chipped beef! In fact, I made it this morning for breakfast, but had it over biscuits instead of  toast... I like to use the Hormel beef in the jar, and my local market just went out if business and I bought all I could at about 1/3 the normal price! When I can't do that, I just use Buddig..

back inthe  '60's, I can remember my mom doing the Stouffers in a chafing dish and serving it in those puff pastry patty shells at her fancy brunches!

I always thought "SOS" was made with GROUND beef, not chipped....
