Be Honest...Part II 🤔

Horseradish

How would you use it?

And do I get the oil-free prepared in jars or the actual root?

@lolakimono

That’s looks good!

So it can be blended into things...hummmm.

I didn’t know if you had to eat it separately like Wasabi

or could be blended in things like..sriracha or salsa.

@sidsmom

I have only eaten it blended.  It is VERY potent, like wasabi.

I put a little in my mashed potatoes and it leaves people wondering what that is.

Re: Be Honest...Part II 🤔

My mother always made a horseradish sauce for beef roasts and prime rib. There are many recipes on the web  I make it myself tho I very seldom make beef roasts.

Also I keep a jar of the prepared horseradish in the fridge for spicing up my home made dressings for burgers and it’s good in egg salad (just a tiny dab).

I buy the jarred horseradish, and use it in mashed potatoes. I would like to try the actual root.

I also use it when I make cocktail sauce for shrimp.

I keep a jar in the fridge to make cocktail sauce for shrimp cocktail.

I do make my own from the root when I remember to buy it. Clears your sinuses.

I wouldn't eat it straight, like wasabi.  I buy it in the jar and make cocktail sauce for shrimp.  You are better to start with a teaspoon worth, not heeping, stir it in and have a little taste.  It won't take long before you get an idea if you use more than one teaspoon worth.  I like it with some bite and have ended up with 5 alarm.
