Re: BUTTERBALL TURKEY, NOT GOOD

The thing with turkeys of any brand is they're all individual animals. You may get a turkey who was very lazy and just laid about and ate, who's very tender, juicy, and flavorful. Another turkey hatched and raised in the same farm may have been hyperactive and always up and running and never resting who had no fat and was tough as all get out because of the constant activity. Both turkeys could have been the same variety, raised in the same farm, but their individual natures made one delicious and one nearly inedible.

LOL .... interesting point.    Now, in addition to brand and weight, they need to tell us about the turkey's personality profile ... uh, where on the information label would THAT go?   Woman LOL

Re: BUTTERBALL TURKEY, NOT GOOD

[ Edited ]

I usually use an oven bag when I am cooking a turkey small enough, like 8 lbs or so. I much prefer Honeysuckle White brand over Butterball after not finding the Butterball turkey to be as tasty or moist as the Honeysuckle White. It has never failed me so I stick with it now. I normally cook a turkey breast as large as I can find, usually around 10 lbs. I did one at Thanksgiving and not one single bite of meat was left. Try using a Reynolds oven bag for your turkey and I will bet you will love how it turns out. Using the bag eliminates having to baste, cover with foil, and babysit the turkey while it bakes; also takes much time to cook....Inlike to simplify since I have all the other things to make while the Turkey bakes.
