I have had a craving for liverwurst for days as I also enjoy a liverwurst sandwich!!!!!  I must go to the supermarket and buy some!!!!  I also love German food although I do not have a German back round.  I love all the wursts.  When October arrives my girlfriends and I go to a restaurant that has delicious foods for October fest and I always enjoy!!!!

Yes, I'm a big fan, too. I like it on a potato roll with thinly sliced raw onion and miracle whip. I usually buy it about twice a year.

I ate it as a child all the time but I haven't eaten it in years.

Living in upstate NY I grew up on Mother Goose Liver Sausage.  Sadly it is no longer made.  I tried Jones Braunschweiger expecting to have wasted my money but it turned out to be an acceptable replacement.  I treat myself a couple of times a year.

My mom called it goose liver. We ate it as a a little, little kid sliced with mayo on white bread. Then, one day i guess I didnt like it anymore. Never had it again.

Re: Anyone like Liverwurst?

[ Edited ]

My grandparents and parents emigrated to Washington Hts, NY from Germany ( spent 10 yrs in South America, to escape the Nazis when US closed the doors and eyes..).

Anyway, that area was a concentration of German immigrants at that time and as a kid we ate liverwurst from a German deli (Bloch and Falk)- It was more like a liver pate spread, and that was just scrumptious stuff!! As kids, we lived on it ( bad eaters) . I've never come across anything like it! I still love liverwurst andI will try some suggestions here! Thx friends!

@simplyfriends

My mother was German also and we had a lot of her foods growing up.  I sure miss her and her wonderful cooking.  Yes, we grew up eating this.  I haven't eaten this in years.  I used to eat it on toast.  I can't remember how Mom ate it.  I know Aldi usually has it for sale since they are a German company.

I love it on a hard roll with a thin slice of onion and mayonnaise. I get a craving for it maybe once a year! 😋

Yes!  Love it on crusty sour dough with thinly sliced radishes.  My grandmother was German and also made all of the foods you mentioned, plus she was a terrific baker and I will cherish the memories of her plum cake and Chistmas cookies forever. And here I thought I wasn't hungry when I woke up this morning...

I'm mostly German heritage but don't recall having liverwurst.

The big thing in my community is German Meat Pie at Christmas time.   It's made either with cubed or ground meat.........mixture of beef and pork baked with onions in a biscuit type pie crust.
