Yes, but it has to be Usinger's on rye bread with a slice of raw onion and brown mustard.

I never heard of this brand! Where do you get it? What part of the country please?

@Skyegirl21  Usinger's is made in Milwaukee, Wi.  Since I live in Wisconsin it is available in most grocery stores.  Other parts of the country might have to order it through the mail.

Such a timely post--was just talking to my DD about a fantastic liverwurst ball that I had and made in 70's or so--got the recipe from a co worker and it was amazing----am wondering if I still have the recipe--think it had cream cheese in it--man it was good. But never really ate liverwurst  alone----now I'm going to have to rifle thru my recipes!!!

What a walk down memory lane on Liverwurst....ate it growing up and haven't had it since.  Use to love it.

Noooooooo.  I remember growing up my mom would buy it for herself every so often and slice it and spread it on bread with I don't know what else.  I would literally gag watching her and then she'd get mad and chase me out of the kitchen.  LOL!  (I loved teasing her.  She was such an easy mark!)

I love it!  That was my Doxie's favorite treat and I would always steal a slice from a new roll!

My parents ate it in a sandwich with raw onion.  My husband eats it too...only if I buy it, which I very seldom do.

Not me.  I don't eat bologna, liverwurst and many types of ground up to a pulp meat sausages, including most hot dogs....even though organ meat is supposed to be good for you, YUCK.  I can't eat it.

When I was little, my father and I would have liverwurst sandwiches. Half a sandwich is plenty as it is quite rich. I stopped eating it when we stopped having them together. It is a nice memory and the name made me giggle as a kid.
