Why all of a sudden are some of my purchases being sent by FedEx?  FedEx is the worst.  I had a packaged delivered finally yesterday after being stuck at the last hub for a week.  The box was totally wet, had been damaged and retaped to keep it together.  I did have one item was missing which I'm assuming it fell out before box was taped up.  This wasn't a QVC purchase but any time I have problems it's with FedEx.  I now have a QVC package that was shipped over a week ago and is still hung up in Ohio at the same location for 6 days and counting.  I've talked to some friends and two of them have been having major problems with them as well.  And they are no help at all if you call them even if you are lucky enough to understand what they are saying since English doesn't seem to be their first language.   I don't remember QVC shipping FedEx before.  Thankfully my two other packages were shipped UPS.

Most likely because they're getting a cheaper rate.  That's normally the sole reason.

Many retailers I order from have been switching shippers lately.  One is now using DHL.  Some have stopped offering free shipping or increased their minimum amount to purchase before they offer free shipping.  One has had to increase the UPS delivery time unless we are willing to pay more--my increase would be over $70 for overnight UPS delivery, which I had been getting for $9 for 30 years.

Longer shipping times, and they all hand off to USPS whenever possible.  Which is something that needs to be taken into account if/when the federal government looks at the troubles at USPS.

Fedex has been so far behind delivering in my area for the past few weeks.  We had one package that was at our nearest hub for 6 days.  I spoke to the delivery guy one day and he said he had 100 stops and 125 packages that one day.  And we live 90 minutes or so from that hub, so he drives a while before he actually starts dropping off packages.

I don't think they have the extra help thru the holidays where I live either.  UPS does.  I felt bably for him.  Young guy trying his hardest.  I gave him and Coke & some snacks and thanked him.  They've been delivering around 8 pm when it's usually around 4pm.  But it does get frustrating when you paid to have something delivered and it takes so long to ge to you.

@Lainey59.  The reason for your complaints is obvious, it's Christmas!  Everyone, both retailers and customers are inundated so transport has really slowed.   I've noticed 2 to 3 days being added to to transportation time.  It's not just you,  so grin and bear it, and remind yourself to shop earlier next year.

As a business owner I have notified all of our suppliers that we will not use FED EX as a delivery source...completely unreliable.

@Kachina624   Not necessarily true, any time of the year FED EX is not reliable and we have caught the driver in white lies...last order we received our delivery was let outside of our business all night....

@Mom2Dogs.  I agree, I shudder when I find something has been shipped FedEx.  If I know in advance, 8 won't order.

I guess I am the oddity here, we ship a lot with FedEx and have usually had very good service. Usually 50-70 bottles of wine every month and at least a dozen other items. I have had issues with Fedex Ground but never the overnight shipping.

Most of my packages that come from QVC start off with UPS and then get transferred to USPS. When I receive Fedex from other retailers they seem to ship directly from Fedex to me.
