Re: Too much trouble and expense to return

I sent back a top that was on clearance for something like $14.00.  But it was scratchy due to embroidery and beads and I knew I would never wear it.  But I did shipping at the post office, so it cost less than $6.95.  If I don't like it, it is worth it to me to get something back for it.  I will not let QVC make money off of me paying for something I don't like or want.  If I send it back, they only made money on the initial shipping.

I learned my lesson long ago. No matter how little or how great the cost, it's going back if it's unusable to me and going in the donation pile. I just don't care about S&H losses.

I think the Q counts on people keeping unwanted or defective items when balancing cost of item and cost of returning.

Of course, I'm much more careful in purchases with no impulse buying..

I always return anything that I am disappointed in and feel I am not going to enjoy it and/or get enough use out of it.  Don't want it making clutter.  Also, even though the returns are costly, it still makes sense to get a good portion of the cost back in your pocket.

Re: Too much trouble and expense to return

I've bought items for gifts that I later found out the person doesn't like so I keep it. Example, I bought a Limited Edition Baby Lupah from Evine for my son's girlfriend for Chirstmas and when I showed it to my son, he said Mom she doesn't like Mickey so I was going to gift it to my niece but I asked her first if she liked Mickey, again I got a No. But my cousin who loves Mickey and is going for the 2nd time to Disney World just had a birthday and I'm giving it to her. So glad I found a home for the watch. I'm sure she will love showing it off and will get lots of compliments.

Shoe returns can get expensive, @Daysdee. I've had to stop buying shoes at the Q, b/c I can't depend on any brand staying true to size. You lose $5. in their s&h, and you pay $7. to return. $12. to try on a pair of shoes. You don't want to do that too many times.  Smiley Happy

Re: Too much trouble and expense to return

I totallyagree op, but it is still a little inconvenient to return it. I would still return it esp for that price, but I keep my purchses to a bare minimum to avoid as many returns as possible. But it happens. I won't buy shoes without free exchange for size that fits, or free returns period.

They had the cutest pair of floral Skechers, @skuggles, I really wanted. I checked the reviews, lowest to highest, and they were filled with didn't fits: too big, too wide, too small, too narrow, rubbed heel, on and on and on.

I knew to try that on was going to cost me $12.

@febe1 Although there's never certainty without trying on, sounds like you are better off on this one. Good call. Woman Happy QVC , How to Drive Away Business Without Really Trying.
