@Say Nay

From Qurate's Q4 2022 March 1,2023 Earnings Call Transript:

"We are undertaking an organizational cost reduction and yesterday announced layoffs at QVC U.S. and HSN as well as in certain global functions.

While we recognize headcount reductions are hard decisions, we know rebalancing our workforce is right for our business going forward.

We’re eliminating over 400 positions primarily at QVC U.S. and HSN or about 12% of corporate headcount."

Further in the transcript:

"We have committed resources to supporting impacted team members with fair severance and other transition services, as well as resources for our remaining employees who will be impacted by this loss as well."

Very interesting reading on the plan forward if you're interested.

Well, aren't you just the perfect little ray of sunshine??? Ever stop to think that some of the people who feel strongly about this whole thing might be housebound and TV is pretty much what they have? You and I are lucky. We CAN get out, but not everyone has that ability or luxury. You might take that into account next time. In the meantime, bless your heart.

Re: The layoffs at QVC

[ Edited ]

That was quite an emotionally charged lengthy rant and tirade targeted at fellow posters, directing them to chill.  Chill indeed.

Wow!

I have been with QVC almost from the beginning.  It was a pleasure to watch for many reasons - the hosts were friendly, informative and personable. They let the product be shown and described by the presenter. Today we have hosts talking over everyone who is presenting and pushing products that are grossly overpriced.  There are so many reviews regarding the poor quality of products recently and the high shipping cost of returns.  There are a few hosts who seem so disinterested in what they are selling and more interested in boasting about their lives.  I am sadly disappointed what is happening to QVC but as times change this must be the way of the future for them.

I didn't bother to read the entirety of post (currently) 48, but that poster sure is devoting a lot of time and energy to tell others to chill.

Perhaps that poster needs to take his/her own advice and "get out more".  I'm sure there are more constructive ways to spend time.  It's not as if we didn't all get the poster's point the first few times.  Just sayin'.

I get the outrage from people about Dan & Carolyn being outsourced. However, what I don't understand is the calling out ... by name no less ... of other hosts they feel are more deserving of being fired: Jane T. Shawn K, Rachel B, Amy S. or any of the most recently hired hosts.

I'm sure most people posting on this Forum consider themselves decent people. What then is decent or kind or compassionate about wanting someone else to suffer the same fate that happened to Dan & Carolyn?

That's my take away from reading multiple threads about the layoffs. Some people just aren't nice.

With all due respect, it is spelled "their."  It takes away from your cogent posts to see this misspelling over and over again..

The use of "Farcebook" in the post is pretty good.
