@spabar - Yes, UPS uses trains for a significant portion of its freight. This doesn't mean they're loading individual boxes into a train car—often, it means they're shipping large containers or even their trucks via rail. They do use airplanes, trucks, and ships as well, but the railways are a big part of their transportation approach.

(I haven't checked recent UPS statistics or annual reports, but it used to be that their shipping along the coasts and in the Chicagoland area involved a lot of trains.)

@Kachina624   I am in California and I checked the rail log, and other road blocks I don't see a,derailment in Calif since about 8 mos ago.  Maybe broken down IDK. But no derailment I know of. But then again. What do I know, lol@.

@shoekitty It doesn't state the location of the derailment.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.

@loriqvc - all I can say is that it's a long way from CA to FL, but that explains the amount of time it takes to receive an order.

The delays I've gotten lately have been because of UPS, not necessarily QVC, because I've had delivery delays on orders from other companies as well.  Twice I've had an overnight delivery and a two day delivery delayed by UPS in the last couple of weeks.  Neither were from the Q.

The Ontario warehouse delays are another situation.  Although I must say that despite "preparing your order" for several days, I've not received any orders past their estimated delivery date.  In fact, most of my orders are now coming a day or two before the EDD.

Another fun fact:

UPS has never lost a Q order in the 39 years I've been a QVC customer.

Well...2 weeks ago; they lost my QVC order.

I called Q CS and told them; I got the credit immediately.

And UPS is still showing it at their warehouse without movement for 3 weeks.

In essence, that equals: LOST.
