Re: QVC: On the way UP, OUT, or THE SAME?

They are way over priced imo...I can find the things for less and I need less now. Their obcession with certain clothing styles is not for me nor am I interested in most of their in house brands. Cheap comes to mind.

The long and drawn out presentations are a complete turn off. I don't care for speed talking/goofy girls as hosts which I cannot understand for the life of me.... I'm too old for a slumber party and the giggles. I do like fun and creative presentations but those are long gone now.

No sh today is a meh.......most sites offer that anyway... I don't like that they only carry 2000 of 1 item... never have reviews and allow strangers to review with silly comments.

I used to love grabbing my am coffee to watch and buy..so many nice things. They never have any real sales imo....

That vitamix noise is awful plus I cannot watch anymore peanut butter and soup being made.

Their presentations are not realistic... having some 25 yr. old talk about products which will save our skin in our older years is an insult....I want the truth if those skin vendors have had work done....honesty. It's a rare commodity now.

I used to take hours looking at their pages of Royal Palace rugs and tiffany lamps..........now they may have 2.... and wow are they high. EZ pay does not interest me either as they've just added in interest there too.....

They pretend they are our family..NOT....

I always wonder what they say about their customers when they get home - LOL "Hey Bob, did you see what those 300 people bought today?".... Smiley Very Happy Smiley Surprised

Re: QVC: On the way UP, OUT, or THE SAME?

Hi @dulwich .. I do most of my shopping online since I don't have much time to go to the malls.  But I have cut down drastically on my QVC purchases.   There are countless other online sites that offer the same products at the same price with no shipping & handling charges .. or at much better prices and no shipping & handling charges.   You just have to shop around.

@steviebwrote:

For me and for a variety of reasons they've been on their way out for about the past five or so years. At this point, they're pretty much out the door. Along with the non-favorable pricing, shipping and return policies, redundant programming and repetitive products, an unpleasant over-all on-air vibe and the related loss of a familiar, pleasant feeling when watching, the big factor for me is I'm simply no longer much interested in what they're selling. Product mix and diversity have taken a huge hit and the same old song has grown very tedious.

I think OUT.  Not immediately, but it is on the horizon. Different world, different life, different clientele.

Re: QVC: On the way UP, OUT, or THE SAME?

Heading South in a big way.  You just have to look at all the complaints on these forums. Lots of people stating they purchase a lot less then they use to (myself included). Their quality of products have gone down hill. There CS has gone done hill. Their variety has gone down hill. Their shipping takes sooo much longer, and their returns are well, sketchy at best. If you have to be warned to watch your billing cycle to make sure your get your return, well...But their prices have gone Up, Up, Up! QVC's sales and clearances are a joke. A few dollars off does not a sale make. They offer no coupons, or incentives to purchase items. Flex pay is no incentive to me. I pay all at once or I don't get the item. At this stage of my life,(age 61) I have only wants. No Needs. I can live without another, top or pant.  IMO, we are not appreciated as customers by QVC. I'll take my money to others that do want my business. Be that on-line or in B&M stores.

Re: QVC: On the way UP, OUT, or THE SAME?

I think QVC is trying very hard to attract the younger crowd as well as trying to keep us oldies!   As far as pricing goes they have gone up some but maybe that is necessary for them to survive.   I wish they would try harder to compete with some of the b&m stores and offer coupons to good customers as Macys and JCpenney and some others do.  Those of us who have been faithful customers for several years need to know we are appreciated!  That being said, I still do enjoy QVC.Woman Happy

@shopperqvcI didn't watch when Paul Kelly was on, but I remember pretty much the rest of your comments.  TSV's were exciting in those days and more of a value than now.  Plus they had interesting items that you didn't see locally.  Now Target, etc. has a lot of what QVC carries--not to mention Amazon.  (free shipping at both too)   Nice to see QVC "got with it" and has free shipping today.

Re: QVC: On the way UP, OUT, or THE SAME?

I've been regularly purchasing QVC items for almost 30 years. Unfortunately, the cost, the quality and the expense of most of your recent items have not been worthwhile. The styles are tedious...everything looks the same. The cost of one Susan Graver item, which used to be around $25 to $30, now are in the $50 to $60 range. And they're not even attractive. I will no longer buy her things.

And Joan Rivers once wonderful fitted jackets have turned into schleppy baggy denim shirts, with no style at all!

It's so pathetic. When QVC was able to sell quality goods at decent prices, it was worthwhile. Now, we see mediocrity. Well, except for Bob Mackie. He still designs quality clothing, and it's worth the price.

Sadly, QVC may be on the way out. A shame, really.

Re: QVC: On the way UP, OUT, or THE SAME?

What ever happened to Ronco or Nesco or some of the other high quality brands? Now if it's on air, it's Cook's Essentials. If it's an item that has caught on with people, they have to copy it and put their own brand name on it. They've had many shows with that expensive French brand of cast iron Le Creuset, but not to worry, you can now get it much cheaper through a Cook's Essential brand. Need an air fryer, they now have that, too. They copy whatever is the going thing. Is there anything that Lori Goldstein doesn't design? First it was clothing. Now it's jewlery, shoes what else? How about Ellen? Has she ever carried a purse? Does she know what the customer really wants? Stick to home goods. Everyone now is a "Jack of all Trades". Sure, I can stick my name on that. It's the same venders all the time, just different merchandise. I know, I can turn my TV off, I already did. The shows are old, stale. Buying up HSN is just another K-mart buying Sears. One dying company buying another dying company. You lost what you had. You were informative, with good quality merchandise, and you didn't gouge on the shipping. It was worth the wait for it to get to the house because it was good stuff you couldn't get anywhere else. Now the shipping is expensive and slow. Many times it has to be sent back and it costs more to return than it did to get. EZ Pay is just paying the same amount just over a longer period of time, not a sale. There's no information given about what the item does or how to use it, it's just bigger and better. I watched every 50 in 50 Tour show, now it's why bother? And by the way, anything that costs $600.00 a month is NOT EZ Pay for most of us.

I'm with the slow slide thing.

Very slowly down, trying to be something different and new (which business needs to do to survive) but missing the mark a lot where my needs/wants/desires are concerned.

I'm seeing poorer quality, less variety shown on air, too much repeating of the same items and vendors, shipping that isn't reasonable for multiple purchases, and too much hard sell rather than the relaxing presentations of the distant past.
