Hahahaha I was thinking the title "side pockets" meant "side bar" so I was a little confused when I read the first post. Took me a second to realize I misunderstood title.

I've waited 45 years, (most of my ADULT life) for designers to "get a clue" and make DRESSES with pockets. My grandma had dresses in her dresses from the 1930's, 40's and my mom from the 50's. Then designers got "Cute" and took pockets out of dresses for most of my adult life. Since I'm so "Pro" pocket now, because of these clueless designers all these years...I want pockets in EVERYTHING. 

Men have had them in most of their clothing FOREVER...so why not the ladies?

There are a Plethora of tops without pockets..BTW.

Pocket in Tops is a relatively "new" thing...compared to 45 years without pockets..it's a slim slice of time.

I so, so agree with the OP.  I don't care if I ever have pockets.  I do wish just now and again they could stop with the pockets!!!

I like pockets.  What I don't like are big sewn on pockets.  I like side pockets that aren't bulky.

I can't figure out why anyone would want an outerwear garment with no pockets.

I don't use my pockets for tissues.

hate pockets in pants !   I don't like the extra bulk,  especially in those anybody jiggers they stick out , bunch up  they are awful !😣.  I like a smooth hip area .
