Wow.  

 

I stopped watching on a regular basis because I could not stand wasting my time and listening to hosts who seem to want to talk about themselves.  Today, I decided to watch a Phil show.  Seriously, the host spent more time talking about herself than Philosophy products.  Click.  Turned QVC off.  I don't know the name of the host, but she went on and on talking sbout her initial test with the Q. I would have preferred listening to the vendor rep discuss the products. 

 

BTW, we indeed do have the right to cririque hosts performances.  We pay their salary!

Some call it host bashing, i call it critique,  based on her inability to do her job correctly.  I know some get overboard with her sense of style, but she really needs retraining and some knowledge of how she makes the customer feel when trying to purchase their products. The moderators should show the bosses what the complaints are about,after all we are their bread and butter.


The bosses know on a second-by-second basis how a host is being received by sales during a presentation.  If a host is meeting or exceeding sales expectations "the bosses" are not going to interfere.

 

Although there may be a lot of complaints about a host on the boards posters represent a tiny percent of Q's customer base and when you consider that many of the complaints are from the same posters...

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

There are some hosts I just won't watch, for various reasons - and I'm obviously not the only one who avoids certain hosts. These are potential sales being lost, so it stumps me as to why QVC doesn't pay attention to why viewers may be turned off by some hosts' offputting behavior.

Your absolutely correct. You would think management would pay attention, and correct this. When X amount of people complain, it's our failure? I'm not in to hosts personally, and I do know how to change the channel, as does everyone on here. There are shows I would enjoy watching, if I didn't have to tolerate the hosts assinine antics.

I think we are absolutely entitled to voice our opinions about the hosts.  I don't think it should be personal, but as to how they are doing their job and how childish and unprofessional they get and the need to be the center of attention.......absolutely! 

 

As one poster said, we pay their salary.  Sometimes there are shows I want to watch and if the host starts w/the personal stories and childish behavior, I need to turn the channel.  I do not watch much at all anymore.  If I went in to a B & M store and a clerk acted the way some of these hosts do, I would report it to management.

I think bashing anyone,  it is just plain mean--and mean is the soup du jour now days----if you don't have something good to say, keep your trap shut!!!

In my many years on this board people have come after me for my posts about a certain former host. In many disparaging posts about that host or me for saying I liked her--people would say--"she is just sales person!"

What I don't get about the scrutiny of the QVC hosts including those that try to bash some of the well loved former hosts---is if they are "just sales people"---why should their styling choices, word choices or other quirks even matter???? After all they're just sales people!!


And the entitlement of posters here that feel it's their right to scrutinize x y or z about a hosts pore size or hair color, etc---because they pay their bills--I find appalling!!  If you order a Quaker Factory item on sale every so often--that certainly doen't pay much toward anyone's salary. 

 

I go back to the Golden Rule really and if I can't find something nice to say about someone---I just don't say it.
