I would never walk in to a store and tell a sales person "You have such a lovely face, it's a shame you are so overweight". But some do that here.
I would never tell someone "Did someone use a lawnmower to cut your hair? It looks terrible". But, they do that here.
I would never tell my usual salesperson "You've gained a few pounds dear, you should cut back on the quarter pounders". But, they do it here.
I would never walk up to someone in management and say "What were you thinking when you hired that person. They are awful and have no personality".
Those that come here to put down a host they decide they really don't like will be cruel and then make the claim that they are just trying to help the host or management. No, they aren't trying to be helpful, they are building themself up by cutting someone else down. Pointing out flaws they see in someone else is not constructive to anyone.
I don't know any of the hosts personally, do you? If so, then tell them to their face what you like and dislike about them. I really doubt that telling them something like that would keep your friendship for long.
To me, they are just salespeople. That is their job. Pleasing everyone is not. What I would do in a store is the way I would do in talking to these people making a sale.
Yes, every product is wonderful, it's just perfect for every person, and it is a top seller. It's the same in a store you go into. No salesperson will tell you "I wouldn't buy that if I were you". No salesperson will ask you if you can afford their product either, that is up to you.
The hosts are on TV, they are not celebrities. It's the viewer that makes them that in their own minds. The only opinions the hosts hand out is about their product, and every one of those is that the product is wonderful. They don't deserve being "cut down to size".
Kathy used to say how she got letters telling her she had "let herself go" by gaining 10 pounds. She's human and we all gain and lose from time to time.
The meanness shown on here is really not called for. Hiding behind a screen name and a computer gives some a sense that they can do anything they want no matter how cruel.
Manners, respect and responisibility have all been thrown away thanks to Freedom of whatever anyone wants to claim. Not many are polite any more.
If you have the right to critique my job, do I have that same right with yours? If not, why not?
