Re: Lug x Mary DeAngelis Collection

[ Edited ]

I think Mary and her mother have a very endearing, loving connection.  But that has no bearing on whether I want to buy and carry a handbag to be reminded of their bond.

I wear things that resonate with my own style and give my own meaning to it.  Most importantly, I need to love it for me, and it's wonderful style.  This just isn't it for me at all.

In fact, this collection has such an emotional attachment to Mary, and I don't even know Mary personally, that it's almost the sole reason why I won't buy it.  Nah, it's because I really don't like the designs at all.

I liked the southwest design, which is unusual for me since I don't care for prints.

I find the story and the sentiment behind the quilts endearing.  I don't think the "bags" do justice to the beautiful quilts that were the inspiration.  The colors are all very nice, but the prints are just not my cup of tea.  To all that purchase -- enjoy

In the picture she posted, I probably would have passed myself, but when being presented I liked how they looked. I also liked the story behind them. I wouldn’t have bought them if it was just the story behind them.😊

I'm a big Lug fan...

However, those new patterns/designs (for a handbag) don't appeal to me whatsoever.

Additionally, I prefer to carry solid color bags since I tend to wear tops with a pattern more than solid tops. I only have 2 handbags with a design/pattern and they are Patricia Nash.

I'm old school and don't like to mix patterns...only wear one at a time.

Side Note:

The new Lug x Mary chevron design/pattern reminds me of an afghan I made...

Re: Lug x Mary DeAngelis Collection

I wear only solid neutrals, most usually white and black.  Every once in a while I like to add a "little" bit of color, normally in the summer.  So any of these would fit that bill.

I didn't really care for the "Mountains" prints, but as I said I like the southwest prints.  I wish the wallet had come in that.  The southwestern print has meaning for me personally, so that's why I was interested.

Looking at the lug bags again, still happy I bought one.
