Well on to other topics .......
I will definitely have to go check out the Pier 1 nearest me....they always have some unique and interesting decor pieces especially around spring/Easter, Fall, and Christmas....and even if you don't buy it's always fun to browse....and I have to go to Bath and Body Works anyway....
I know fake leather, fake suede and fake calf hair is supposed to be "on trend" but it's not my style and LR is a bit like moms she gets fixated on one thing and won't let it go! And what's up with nothing but wearing black....is Lisa related to Johnny Cash!!!! As QVC's polyester clothes are a salute to the 70's.....this color blocking thing is bringing back the 60's--- gogo boots and geometric design anyone.......As the Polyester Queen goes for the Star Trek look, I think LR is going for the Jetson's look
......I think LR should stick to what she does best...hosting instead of designing!
And I think LR should stay away from the jewelry buying excursions too (David M is bad enough).....when I hear Lisa talk about how she begged the buyers to bring some of her favorite pieces to QVC I just cringe.....time to send someone else....And speaking of jewelry....HER MAJESTY's line seems to be all variations of her same ole design...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I really forced and pushed myself to get all my chores and errands done and now I can relax or find some kind of trouble I can get into..
, ya know some days my get up and go has gone up and went and I just feel like chilling out and doing absolutely NOTHING! --- so what if there is a bit of cat hair here and there and some things need dusting...my kitchen is always clean and my home is always picked up...and sometime good nuff
But I just wish THIS BLASTED HEAT WOULD END!!!! If QVC offered a portable AC to keep you cool while you are out and about---I think I just might buy one!
Saw a good movie, WHEN THE GAME STANDS TALL (true story about a high school football coach and team)....and after we went to a Thai restaurant ...... good food too...
I will say a prayer as you venture to your grocery store.....that the shelves are stocked and that there are no incidents with a cash register!!!! ..

Assemble all the groupies and get your pumps primed to go.Hi kachina......the purchasers of Wen are rather protective of their product and vendor, therefore, I chose a more mellow approach.....
Now see Spurt, I just knew that course in diplomacy would come in handy...
"Rather protective" puts a nice spin on it... Now you're ready to enter the diplomatic corps...
As for Cousins, et. al., Spurt, you'll have to make that "your" possible starting QB's... I'd like to see him get the job, but the DC Aboriginals are "your" team, though heaven only knows why... They will never be "my" team... I just live here! And frankly, if I ever feel like I can pull it off, I'd love to leave the Metro area altogether... Why, I actually think I'd prefer to be closer to moms up in Philly! I'd look so fetching in Eagles Green...

But seriously folks... I'd prefer a smaller town, to be honest and sometimes think about relocating to one of several I've enjoyed over the years...
As for Kirksy, well besides being attached and them SO not being my team, he's appealing, but not 'all that and a pack of sandwich cookies', and I've already moved on in search of greener (and unattached) pastures... Besides, I still have hopes that one day Brady will come to his senses!

Went to another Maxx and HG yesterday, but neither was very special. At least I learned I prefer the HG that's actually closer to me and while this one had quite a bit of fall merchandise (the Maxx had very little and I'm not actually sure they'll be getting more, but who knows) it appeared to be sort of picked over. I did get a small 'spray' of fall leaves and berries (the one I picked up a few weeks ago was larger and mostly leaves and acorns) and a cool white pumpkin with an orange quilt pattern, and really, I needed neither of them... I don't even have room to display what I have...
As for Houston, it's just a very, very large city, both population wise and in terms of sprawl, but without the lure that NY offers, LA's weather, etc... It must appeal to a lot of folks, given the population, but it doesn't charm me, and I could never live with that weather... As for center city activities, perhaps it's so spread out that there is no actual center city. Who knows! DC has the National Mall, but otherwise, activities are spread throughout the city and localized in neighborhoods, and in the suburbs... Cities have lost a lot of their appeal for me, because it's impossible to park in most of them and public transportation is, well, so dicey...

I don't know WHAT LR is channeling... Early on, I liked some of the Gili fashions, but lately, most of them just look like cheap knock offs I'd expect to see at Walmart... Well OF COURSE, and there you go... I guess I had a lapse... And yes, I'm fully tired of hearing about Gili for Bronzo Italia, as if we didn't see enough mystery metal jewelry...
I've always liked Lisa and get it that the Q wanted to parlay her popularity as a host into sales. Unfortunately, like everything else they do, it's reached overkill status... and, of course, while they could have gone in a different direction, they've pretty much cut to the lowest common denominator, like they tend to do with just about everything else, except, of course, price... Ditto Her Majesty. I used to enjoy her visits but now that she's become a fixture, I rarely even bother to watch. Added to that, paying big bucks for low-end gemstones, gold clad silver and fake diamonds really isn't on my agenda... Her overall look has just become synthetic, even on those rare occasions when the materials she uses are not...
I've yet to start my chores... I know I have to, but I simply don't want to... On the up side, my trip to the grocery yesterday was actually almost a pleasure... ALMOST... I went later in the day, to a smaller store that's close by, as I didn't need to pick up much, and found virtually everything I wanted, the store wasn't crowded and my wait time in line was negligible... And there were no cash register malfunctions... Shocking, I know...
Warm and sunny, right now anyway, with moderate humidity and a light breeze, so I suppose it could be worse, and likely will be! Probably a good pool day if I were so inclined, but that get up and go that got up and went... well, it hasn't come back yet! I haven't been to the pool since mid-summer and though I'll probably miss it at some point, I'm SO not motivated to go today...

I think that the crapitol could use my diplomacy techniques......I will get Spur's Coach Pop to join me in diplomatic services......
From talking to folks the only reason people move to Houston is for JOBS---the oil and energy industries, the port, tech companies, and they have large and well regarded medical centers and the aerospace industry used to be big...etc etc....their average annual income is higher than our fair town. So I guess $$$$ tops heat, humidity, and traffic. As for center activities---you mean you haven't heard of their "famous" fountains!!!
in their center downtown area.....
And here's an actual tourist review---from YELP
"It's basically a big bathroom for people who live on the streets. I don't really make it a point to come here to see something exciting, but it's next to City Hall where a lot of events happen. At least I got a nice IKEA-like picture out of this place! Can't smell the pee from photos!"

We must've viewed it after they had cleaned it.....I think I'll talk the gang into paying it another visit....
I'm sure the locals have their favorite hot spots to congregate.....and I'm sure there are nice parts to the city....but not for me....I wish I could find that article that one of our columnist wrote about H town (it was when the Spurs/Rockets were battling in the NBA Playoffs back in the 90's)......HILARIOUS!
Now Stevie you said if Mon Capiton got the QB job you would consider switching NFL teams and leaving your Tommy (and Gisele) .....and you said you liked Colt McCoy....
I know everything changed of course with Kirk being a victim of matrimonial bliss....
But I concur yes you need to move closer to moms in order to be a GOOD influence on her merchandise and programming choices, we customers are in much need of an ADVOCATE----And I know green is your color---but watch out for the snowballing throwing Eagle fans who even struck poor Santa....(with an exception and all do respect given to GARDENMAN an Eagles fan on the Sports Forums)...Although you could move directly to The Hamptons and Madison Ave and become a NY Giants Fan....my DS can provide you with team details...
I have actually contemplated after retirement about moving to one of the charming hill country towns and leave the hussle and bustle of the big city----but friends have asked would boredom set in......the shops are charming, but the only big chain is Wally World.....
Then as one gets older one must think about doctors and medical care, banks and investment firms etc etc.......So there are pros and cons......
And speaking of DS she is supposed to drop by to check out my vacuum she is in need of a new one....I told her you can exercise and vacuum at the same time the thing is so heavy!

Huh! I never said I'd become an Aboriginal fan! Never, ever, ever... I might have said I would potentially find them more tolerable, perhaps almost palatable... with the Kirkster in command, but OMG, never, ever would I 1) be a true NFL fan of ANY team or 2) to the extent I am a fan, forsake my dear Tommy for the likes of the Capitol Aboriginals... Oh Spurt...
...As Ethel so often says to Lucy, "Oh, you poor little thing"... I think the heat has gotten to you, Spurt, much as it did to dear Lucy, as she had to model in the Hollywood fashion show while sunburned to a crisp...
And even should I move to PA to provide dear moms with some much and sorely needed consultation, two of my least favorite teams of all times (yes, both of them) reside in the state... The Giants, well, should they deep six Eli, I might be able to tolerate them, but I think it best, upon my arrival in PA, simply to adopt Swiss neutrality!
On a more serious note... when I contemplate relocation to a different city or town, I think in terms of a smaller city, but probably not to a small town, though I'd be open to it. I also think in terms of a college town, where the amenities, cultural options and health care are typically more accessible... I don't avail myself of the many downtown options here much anyway, because getting two and from is such a hassle, so I'd hardly miss them. In younger days, it might have been a different story...
Now Spurt, as for that vacuum, tell DS that moms has a Shark on tap for tomorrow!

Oh gosh, we're back in the 90's and I really wish we weren't.

OMG!!!!!
That's how excited I am!!!!!
Did you get the email!!!!!?????
The one about the Q's item of the month!!!!!?????
It's cloaked in mystery.
"Find out what it is", they implore us!!!!!
Then they tell us it's a special offer we won't want to miss!!!!!
They also suggest we 'discover' their "fresh, new" offer!!!!
So what is it?
Huh?
I bet you are just going berserk with anticipation...!!!!!
Did you click the link that led you to.......
YET ANOTHER Viitamix... You know, it's morethanablender...
Product of the month, some of us are asking...? We thought it was the product of the decade. It might as well be, as often as it's on... Fresh? New? Huh? Say what?
Humongous NEXT!!!!!
Oy, and by the way... this is enough to make me REALLY question whether or not I should continue with those emails!!!!!

Hey Stevie....well stick to your Tommy, but his career will be winding down and one of these days he will be riding off into the sunset with Gisele .......so I would start looking for that unattached replacement......
BTW on the NFL Network they showed "the third's" statue at Baylor and invited NFL fans to caption the photo with "the third" admiring his bronze self.....I can just imagine the captions that they didn't put on the air....
I did not get the "exciting" news.....I unsubscribed to mom's "thrilling announcements"
....so MORE THAN A BLENDER is the product of the month....excuse me while I try to locate an air sickness bag or similar vessel.....
It looks like nothing unique or different will be appearing for fall on the Q (but of course that is what we've come to expect from QVC).....it will tie in nicely for all those fall soup recipes.....rutabaga/kale anyone....
My DS reported that her old Bissell was actually heavier than my Eureka.....she took my vacuum home for a spin---she was disappointed with the pet nozzle to pick up cat hair on furniture, but liked the suction and other attachments---she gave it an OK review....I told her about the Shark as an alternative---but she said she would just go somewhere to get one and no ordering from the Q.....oh moms will be so disappointed how will I break the news
!!!!
College towns are nice that is if the "students" (and I use the term loosely) don't go on a wild rampage and destroy the place as they do in Dallas for the Red River Showdown (Texas and Oklahoma).... but yes the college towns seem to offer cultural advantages and are usually quite picturesque ....
