The free samples are from the MANUFACTURERS! Not from the packers or anyone else. These samples are in cellophane wrappers with most of them including coupons. If you don't want them then toss them out, no need to speculate crazy reasons why. This is marketing, so the next go round of samples may be a health and beauty item.

i get granola bars in my Andrew Lessman boxes. They go right in the trash, but most of them are crumbs by the time they get to me with all the heavy tubs crushing the granola bar.

well I finally got a package with the ketchup samples in it too. it's fine, whatever, I like samples of things. I'll take them to work and put them in the kitchen which is what I do with any packets of condiments like that.
