Higher return shipping charge?

Hi all. I received the wrong size Ryka sandal. Called CS to get them to email a label and it showed an $8.95 return fee. I'm not paying because they sent the wrong size but I was wondering if this is the new return fee (rather than $6.95). Is is specific for shoes since the regular shipping fee is $5.50? Just curious.

Hmmm …usually $8.95 return shipping fee is for 5 lb - 10 lb pkgs.

If they sent a size other than what you ordered, you will not be charged the return shipping fee. If you ask for a refund, check it, be sure you weren't charged and call CS if you are.

I think the return shipping charge is higher for shoes.

There should be no return shipping fee for a wrong item sent. Call CS back and explain what's happened and that you want a new label showing no return postage.

I returned a pair of capris to HSN yesterday. The fee is now $7.95. I'm pretty sure it used to be $6.95.

@karen burt How was CS suppose to know when you never mentioned to them about the "wrong size?"

By default, QVC return labels show the associated shipping charge. As the OP noted, she knows she will not have to pay because the return is due to QVC error. She was simply asking about the fee listed on the label she received.

@karen burt - In addition to the differences in standard return fees that apply due to the weight or size of an item, it seems there are differences among item types, brands, and packaging that can sometimes result in the return label charge going up by a dollar or two. If you requested an exchange, I hope you get the right sandals this time!

Interesting. I sure hope they are NOT increasing return fees. I already took a blouse out of my cart today when I added up shipping and tax. It was a blouse I could live without but would have ordered except for the S&H

@Beammeupscotty - Psssst! I think tomorrow is going to be a free shipping day; there are a few shows scheduled that list "free shipping" in their titles as part of QVC's birthday celebration, so it seems likely that everything could have free shipping.
