@MG Chris I don't believe it's being close-minded if you are not a fan of having your body parts strewn around 3 states.

After being married for over half my lifetime I'm so thankful that I continued to be open, learn, and live my life out loud. I wasn't even looking, and my soulmate found me, and I'm eternally grateful.

@Love to Run   It is wonderful everything worked out!

Hopefully, you are enjoying the DC area and filled with happiness. Smiley Happy

A friend met a guy on a dating site, married six months later.  We all said just have fun and wait a bit.  He was under 50 and she was wife 5.  She was 32.  He's now on wife 6.   Crushed her for life.  (She's now 60 and didn't date again)

Another friend met someone on e harmony and has a wonderful 10 year marriage.  Both of them lost spouses to illness.

It's not how you meet, it's who you meet.  Church, bar, dating site, can be winners and losers anywhere.

  1. @SharkE ... I agree 100% with you! ...and why isn't your opinion respected? I thought we were allowed to have our own opinion here??? No way would l go on a dating site!! Just because the posters here have people they know had good luck doesn't mean everyone out there does! Watch Dr. Phil is right! ...or the stories I've read...no way in h*** !!!!

@San Antonio Gal ... So @SharkE isn't entitled to her opinion?? I thought we all were but l guess that doesn't apply to every subject here. I happen to agree with her! Do you really think every person you meet on dating sites are really telling the truth?? No. Not everyone is! I've heard and read stories. Where you ask? I don't remember but they didn't end well or were close calls. Oh goodie. Even Kathy Levine met someone. Does that make it okay for me to sign up? No thank you!! I'm with you 100% @SharkE !!

Why does anyone care if someone met their spouse/SO online?  It sounds like unnecessary gossip to me (even if they said it on air).

I know people who did this and were successful and others that were "taken for a ride."  I guess that is the way it is.

@Magicrat so only those you meet online strew body parts around? OK, sure...
