@San Antonio Gal ... So @SharkE isn't entitled to her opinion?? I thought we all were but l guess that doesn't apply to every subject here. I happen to agree with her! Do you really think every person you meet on dating sites are really telling the truth?? No. Not everyone is! I've heard and read stories. Where you ask? I don't remember but they didn't end well or were close calls. Oh goodie. Even Kathy Levine met someone. Does that make it okay for me to sign up? No thank you!! I'm with you 100% @SharkE !!

@EastCoastGal do you really think every person you meet in person is telling the truth? If the person is a sicko, he/she is a sicko whether you meet them online or at work. You do realize people who are online also go outside and comingle with people in real life.

Why does anyone care if someone met their spouse/SO online?  It sounds like unnecessary gossip to me (even if they said it on air).

@CalminHeart  I don't understand, why is it gossip?  They've talked about it.  QVC is endorsing the discussion by prominently having Jennifer on the QVC FB page talking about it, and is OK with her livestream about it on her QVC page.

If the hosts mentioned their favorite travel places and endorsed places to visit, we'd be discussing that on here in some way too.

Jill Martin met her husband on a dating app and discussed it thoroughly on the Today Show -- cannot get more national discussion than that.

@Caaareful Shopper  - I agree with you 100%!   How can any of this possibly be considered gossip when hosts talk about it on air and on social media !?

Apparently her new fiance is a guy with money....he is a CFO of a company.  '

You would think that someone with that kind of money would not have to go a dating site!

Once you post it online, it's there forever for the entire world to see.

And that is the moment when it becomes gossip.

Are these posters as free about sharing the saga of heartbreak when their relationships fail?

I've always admired Pat James-Dementri for keeping her private life private. Never once heard her utter a word publicly about her unfaithful husband and the messy divorce that was fodder for gossip hounds.

Regarding watching the Dr. Phil show:

I haven't watched his show in years, but I used to tune in occasionally when his show first aired.

I remember it was about 15 years ago he was promoting Match.com on his shows.  He devoted several episodes about this dating site because he wanted to help singles meet.  I remember this because my niece who was single at the time, watched the shows and was tempted to sign up.  (She didn't.)

My point being, so now he is airing horror stories about people who met online??  And he used to actively encourage it?

He certainly did a 180.  Unless I'm misinterpreting, which I do lots. Woman Wink
