Re: Good Bye to George Simonton . . . .

George Simonton initially had adorable clothes.  But as time went on they went downhill. He is not of the caliber of Louis Dell Olio and his Linea Collection.

I am surprised the Q moderators haven't popped in and said something they seem to be on high patrol alert lately.  I posted a question about one of Issac's cashmere after I read the reviews but couldn't find the information I was looking for and the moderator came in and told me what the reviews said; sometimes I like to get more feedback from the ladies on the board.

I like George Simonton and have purchased from him over the years with no problems.  I admire him as well as other designers that share their passion for designing which you can tell how they show and tell the details of their craft.  I also admire him for his energy to teach, design and all the other things he was involved in I myself can barely do my regular 9-5 job!

.QVC would be making a GRAVE mistake in letting go George Simonton! He is one of the TRUE DESINGERS  that creates ORIGNAL customized clothing for curvy shaped women, making us feel  feminine, glamious and pretty! George Siomonton is ultimate CLASS and he shows it in his clothing, unlike the other so called desingers on QVC that only offer clothing to bind us in or cover us up, and making is look frumpy and odinary. Really QVC? Don't let go of class for trend

Sorry, but this is a tad confusing ...... is George leaving ..... or are you just concerned that he might be leaving ??

. . . unless we get busy and let QVC know we object to George Simonton being phased out!   All his online clothing is on CLEARANCE and he was not there for this AM's two hour airing.  There is nothing NEW in his line either.  Another alarm sounded. There is a problem, Ladies.   What are we going to get?  More celebrities who hang their names on clothing lines and then we never see them after 3 months on the air?  I remember too many like that.   In George we have a true designer who knows clothing construction and quality.   Come on, QVC, let's work with George if there is a difference of opinion on something   And come on, Ladies, let's let QVC know we don't want George gone.  Let's hear from you.

Please!!!! Keep George Simonton!!!!! He is a classic designer with luscious fabrics. He understands a women's form and he understands the need for quality fabric and design.

@Tinkrbl44  The latter.  It's all speculation at this point - no definite word.

@Tinkrbl44, speculation at this point, but I haven't seen George S. on QVC in many months, sadly.  We've seen this process before, & the proverbial handwriting seems to be on the wall.  I hope they will keep him on, or hopefully we can join him on another shopping channel that will snap him up, if they let him go.

George mustn't be selling or he would still be on air.He isn't very aggressive with his approach to sales.I really liked watching him but I didn't buy.He needs to get innovative with his sales and step it up like Lois did.

I was thinking the same thing when I read this.  He has a passive sales pitch.  Yeah...I don't buy his clothing.  I think his clothes are a little stuffy.   At least Louis trys different things.

Re: Good Bye to George Simonton . . . .

@songbird, I understand what you are saying, because I remember when Louie D. was well on his way out years ago, but he & his wife very inteliigently addressed the issue of bringing the customers & viewers online into their quest to stay on QVC, and they did it very effectively.  I'm glad they did, because he offers us much by the way of quality clothing.

George doesn't quite have that same dynamic.  He is from a different world, where his focus lies mainly in his students & his customers, and I don't think he has that type of mindset to address the savvy business end of things, in order to garner a huge following to do this battle on his behalf.  That makes me sad, because he is a great designer & seems like a very nice person.  I hate to see QVC let him go, because I have always watched & enjoyed his presentations, learned a lot, & purchased numerous pieces from his line.

What a shame to let a quality designer such as George Simonton go by the wayside. Who is QVC going to be left with, when they start having their anniversary shows?  Only the lines that have been around for a couple of years?  No customer or vendor loyalty?  Ugh.  Show more dedication than that, QVC!  It isn't just about the current 'It' line; it also matters to us when we see long-term quality brands & their offerings.
