@Sunnycorle I don't find ez pay evil at all. I use it when I make purchases because if I need to return the item I don't have the full price tied up and have to wait for a large refund. If I keep the item, I just go into my account and pay it off. Works great.
This is exactly what I do. I use it as a tool. I hardly ever return anything but its nice to use easy pay just in case. Once I decide I am keeping something, I immediately go in and pay off the easy pay. The most recent one I forgot to do that with but its all good, the money is there.

IMO no TV sales person can "force" anyone to go into debt (as someone posted on this thread).
We are adults, we know (or should know) our own finances and we make our own choices.
If someone has no self control when it comes to shopping, that's THEIR problem and no one else's.

Why deny people a choice that works for them simply because it doesn't work for you? Doesn't that strike you as a bit selfish and narcissistic? EZ Pay is only "bad" for customers who can't or won't control their own spending. You're free to avoid it if you fall into that category. Leave those of us who don't alone.

EVERY TSV should be offered with Free Shipping. Too many other retailers offer Free Shipping regularly. QVC barely pays anything in shipping charges.

@LindaSal wrote:I understand the OP's point. I find the tactics for sales has changed also. I think alot of us prefer free shipping over EZ pay but it's good they offer it to those who like it. There have been complaints on here though about errors being made, such as people still being charged their payments after having returned an item. Best to be careful with all shopping I guess.
Many of us got into debt because of EZ Pay. If you listen to the hosts they sound like car salespeople luring people in with talk of monthly payments and 'less than the price of a cup of coffee a day" giberish. It took many years but I am now a savvy shopper. i pray for those on fixed incomes who purchase things they cannot afford due to the EZ Pay offers.

People do not get into debt, because of EP, they get into debt, because, they made poor choices, for themselves.
Neither QVC, nor any, of the many retailers, that offer EP options, force anyone to use it!
Sure it can be tempting, so are a lot of things, that, if overindulged in, can get us into trouble.
As adults, we have personal responsibility. The hosts are salespeople. QVC is a retailer, they exist to sell.
WE are responsible for our own choices!

I agree. When you order it goes directly to easy pay and you have to go change it. On HSN, it goes directly to one pay and if you want easy pay, you change it. I much prefer the way HSN does it because several times I have forgotten to go change to one pay and I'm stuck with easy pay until I call customer service which as we all know is impossible to get through to these days.

@Gkhm, you can change it yourself online by going to your account. Find the item you ordered, pull it up. Near the bottom of the order information there's an area where it says Selected Billing Option 5 Easy Pays then an Edit next to it. Hit the Edit and select One Time Payment option.
Yes, I agree one payment should be the default. If I'm in a hurry to make a purchase of something I don't always select it and have to change it later. (Just remembering how quickly the Martha Stewart Christmas items were selling out within minutes on air.)
