So...what if the food is GHASTLY, and he wants to grimace and spit it out?

If I remember correctly, Mary DeAngelis said she had celiac disease so she couldn't eat gluten. She did the food shows and just avoided the gluten products but I don't remember any comments about her avoiding some food offerings as there is for David trying to maintain his low-carb regime.

Of course he can especially if that something isn't part of his eating program. David tasting or not tasting something is irrelevant since I decide for myself what kind of food I will eat and the nutrition facts are all available.
I've seen men selling women's undergarments on QVC and I'm pretty sure don't wear them.
He does taste everything, so it’s a moot point. Apparently, QVC and David know he has to taste. That is why he does it, or he wouldn’t.
As for selling underwear. If it’s a male host you can bet his mother, sister and niece wear them. If it’s a female she wears them.
That’s why they eat everything and say they own everything. It’s all about getting the sales.

What is your point? We aren’t talking about health conditions.
David does taste the food, so he knows the game. He has to taste to sell.

I noticed that David DOES taste the high carb foods. He no longer stuffs his face, but he does take a bite or two.
When hosts actually eat the food with gusto, the boards are full of posters who complain about the gluttony. When they take a tiny bite or don't taste at all, there are still more complaints.
The bottom line, IMO is....what does it really matter? No host is going to say any food they're offering tastes terrible.
The hosts are working as salespeople. They do what is expected of them by their employer.
I doubt they have any say in what they present and who they work with. They do what they have to and collect a pay check.

I'm now confused about what the issue is.
He does sample virtually everything now.
Over the past few months I've seen him sample breads, muffins, cookies, assorted pastries, fudge, chocolates......
Where's the problem? (Although I don't think there is one.)

Well there was one host who spit out coffee. It has been known to happen. ![]()

That wouldn't be a very wise bet considering we have no idea what underwear anybody's mother, sister or niece wears. They could be Victoria's Secret fans who wouldn't give Breezies a second look. Same goes for the female hosts.
It's so funny to me (and this has nothing to do with my comment above) but suddenly all the complaints about David not tasting the foods have turned to David IS tasting the food. Some people are never happy, lol.
The idea of this being a focus group is one of the funniest misconceptions that I've read in a long time unless the focus for QVC is to read these silly complaints and then do the opposite
which seems to be working nicely.

I, too, burst out laughing (IJBOL) at the notion that this joint is a "focus group!"
Nothing, statistically speaking, could be further from the truth.

I have not read all the posts in this thread so I don't know if Mary DeAngelis not eating many foods has been addressed. If I remember correctly she is gluten free.
Does Mary not eating something or David not eating something or any of the hosts not eating something mean we shouldn't be eating it either. Not in my world.
When is comes to food the complaints should be about how much the cost of shipping inflates the cost of food offerings. We should be complaining about frozen foods being shipped with too little dry ice to keep foods solidly frozen.
