October.

I always take my cues from what's outside my windows, especially since one whole side of my living space in my condo is windows, so the outside is like inside. Summer lasts until end of Sept here in CT (and winter is lonnnnng, so I'm never in a rush to sweep summer aside early; I always say "every last drop.")

My annuals on my deck still look great through Sept, well into Oct. until the first frost.

October is when the colors start to change outside, and I usually put out a few pumpkins, inside and out mixed with my annuals, and change the outdoor wreath to my fall one. Done.  I still mix it with my coastal decor from summer; I'm in a coastal community so it still fits. I don't go "major" fall. I love white and blue/green pumpkins more than all the orange decor.

I do love pumpkin spice anything, and I love baking some pumpkin bread or my aunt's pumpkin chocolate chip cookies in October. Fresh Market already put out pumpkin spice coffee last week. Smiley Sad ....I could have gone for some toasted coconut through August! But, I digress.... 🎃☕️🍁🍃🍂

I incorporate pumpkins into my landscape in the middle of September along with mums. That's all I do. I don't do big decorations anymore.

I used to wait until the first  day of fall and spend the day getting everything out and decorated.  This year I am starting Sept 1 and doing it gradually as the season comes in. (easier on me)

It usually cools down at the end of August so I'll pull out my scarecrows and pumpkins at the beginning of September.

I've decided to decorate for fall Labor Day weekend. It is my favorite season to decorate for and getting older it takes me longer.

I kind of take my cues from the weather; we get some hot weather in September. But typically I would say late September, early October.

Take time every day to enjoy where you are without a need to fix it

@Bettyanne I usually wait until closer to the first day of Autumn to decorate, but as some others are doing, I'm going to start the first of Sept. this year. Summer has been SO hot and dry this year, I'm salivating for Fall. I don't do anything special for Halloween, except to put out pumpkins and mums around the front door to make it more welcoming for the trick-or-treaters.

I am actually decorating earlier this year.  I generally start Labor Day weekend but I just finished a good housecleaning the last few days and decided I would switch from my Patriotic decor into Fall.   Reason being we will be away for a week starting next Thursday (taking a road trip up to NH and ME)  and by the time we get home it will be almost September!   I only do Fall decor, not specific to Halloween or Thanksgiving so I am done until Christmas decor time, LOL!   The only thing I will do is plant some Mums and switch my outside wreath when I get home.

I leave my Americana decor up until after Labor Day and then start on fall.
