Anytime something is posted it is judged. That's true everywhere. Whether or not the comment is responded to  positively or negatively, or not responded to at all, it is still judged. That's human nature. That's also the nature of message boards.

If people are upset by the lack of interesting or stimulating topics there is nothing preventing them from starting threads themselves.

I would not equate posters discussing Qurate's financial situation with anyone wishing their demise. In my opinion, and what is true for me, is that posters, shoppers, viewers see thing occurring and point them out in the hopes that the company does better. They need to do better.

There are a few host that seem to be intentionally turning viewers away. Simple behavior modification by management, if they ever chose to address it, could go a long way to reversing that trend. QVC can't afford not to retain their long time viewers, and more importantly, customers.

Things go in cycles. Ebbs and flows. That's true of message boards.

Re: FORUM RESPONSES

[ Edited ]

@Shanus I can't say that I feel the forum has changed or it's my view that has changed. But, in my opinion, some posts that may have constructive criticism actually can be mean and cruel. I believe opposing views or feedback about QVC can be done much more tactful and positive criticism with suggestions instead of constant complaints about the same thing. These complaints should be done under the FEEDBACK section at the bottom of the page.

There are many subjects I have no interest in and just pass on by. I can now recognize certain people that I favor reading a response and others I prefer to just bypass. Many subjects just don't interest me.

In the beginning I read everything but after a year or so it seems it is the same subject matter over and over. So, I guess I am one that doesn't heart or post as often.

I post less often than I used to. I've become disappointed in much of what I read here.

I guess I'm not interested in posters airing dirty linen about other people, but I might be supportive if a posted problem was about the poster him/herself.

And frequent derogatory posts about hosts that no one knows are out of this world. - it's like posters have no empathy about the effects of what's said.

And I don't know what to believe in what I read here anymore. I've seen fake photos posted that are 25-30 years old, photos of other people, fake careers, posts motivated by attention seeking, posts trying to create shock, unfounded assumptions, posts of what the poster thought was a "hidden" agenda, & more that makes me turn away.

I don't drink kool-aid that's full of hate or stand in line to pile on posters' gossip subjects. I'd rather see a bigger, brighter picture that includes compassion and good critical thinking skills - not being nasty & critical. But I guess some things in all of us can't be fixed; we're human.

I first came to these boards in 2011. Posters shared ideas, asked questions, supported each other, learned about products, gave helpful hints, were often positive, etc.

I used to enjoy the Fashion forum, especially AM Style on Sat. mornings when it was about fashion. Maybe it was the pandemic when no one went out or the economy that's made fashion pricier or maybe it's a change in the atmosphere, but there's rarely fashion talk on Sat. morning.

Idk. I like reading what @Kachina624 & some others have to say. I'm still here, so I guess I think we can still make it better.

Yes! We need more posts!

Throwing out an idea....maybe we could all make a concerted effort to post more topics that interests us and ignore the ugly going forward....

Oh and did anybody catch what Mary said this morning when presenting with Kim Gravel?

I think it was when they were presenting the sequenced Blazer.

Mary said when she didn't know the term "watch plaid" on an earlier presentation that she was reamed big time (I think she said reamed) but she just went on and on and Kim asked by who? And Mary said on the QVC forums!

So they do read the forums, I know people say they don't but they do. I mean I would if I were a host.

So it's not just old and unpleasant for us to read it is read by them and hurtful I'm sure.....

Oh Geez, Pam (@PamfromCT). I don't remember negative responses or threads to or about you. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

Thanks to everyone who replied. It gives a good cross section of ideas why the forums have changed and maybe some notes we can take about ourselves to make the forums better...or not.

Was anyone else watching Gary and Pam do a Livestream today? I really enjoy many of the models and was pleased to see Pam included with Gary. She's a joy to watch and almost always has interesting things to add to a program. And she added to Gary's Livestream big time.
Frankly, I'm tired of his song and dance routine with Jayne and look forward to different faces with him.  Perhaps more of the models will try out for Host positions? IDK, but they certainly have a good idea of the job responsibilities and know the items sold!
