@Luvsmyfam  Oh it certainly does turn me (and I'm sure others) off. There have been times I've wanted to post and though....nope. I'm not up for rudies (rude comments). It's a shame too because I'd love to hear more from you as well as others I've gotten to know on here.

I have been with QVC and forums for 20+ years.  I have always enjoyed exchanges here....however, it is changing.  I ignore any negative type messages. I scan all the boards but probably spend most of my time on Recipes or Kitchen.   We have lost many old-time posters for a variety of reasons. 😟 I enjoy seeing regulars here or newcomers.  I guess we have to keep on posting positive messages and, hopefully, attract others.  I think it may be an age-related thing too..🥴.  Many posters are older or have left....younger gals are too busy or into other social media......  🤷‍♀️

Oh and did anybody catch what Mary said this morning when presenting with Kim Gravel?

I think it was when they were presenting the sequenced Blazer.

Mary said when she didn't know the term "watch plaid" on an earlier presentation that she was reamed big time (I think she said reamed) but she just went on and on and Kim asked by who? And Mary said on the QVC forums!

So they do read the forums, I know people say they don't but they do. I mean I would if I were a host.

So it's not just old and unpleasant for us to read it is read by them and hurtful I'm sure.....

@GingerHead, here's my take on the Blackwatch comments.

Mary said last time she was roasted for not knowing the term Blackwatch. When asked by whom, she said the online community. To me online community extends far beyond this  QVC forum.

I have no doubt Qurate employees read the forum. The rules are that they don't posted except for those few designated, identifiable employees.

Blackwatch is a well know tartan pattern in the fashion community. If I saw a garment choice labeled Blackwatch, and I didn't know what it meant, I would look it up. But that's me, and it's not even related to my job. I consider things like that as doing your homework. Being better prepared.

I think the gracious and more introspective response would have been to acknowledge not being familiar with the term (which was done) but then simply say it was good to learn something new.

The fact that Kim also admitted she was unfamiliar with the term Blackwatch to describe an item color in her supposed line I found very telling.

Re: FORUM RESPONSES

[ Edited ]

I've been here a long time and mostly lurked until more recently.  I don't start threads but comment if I have something to contribute.  I do buy a lot from QVC and have rarely had an issue that wasn't easily resolved.

Having said that, I find myself getting annoyed much more often with all of the host bashing (especially of Jane & Shawn) and the number of members who proudly boast about how they no longer watch or shop here.  I just don't get it.

There are plenty of other online places to gather and chat.  This place was much better when everyone here was an actual customer and there were discussions about the products minus all the nonsense.

Yes, QVC can get feedback from the (very limited demographic) community here, but as pointed out, the feedback option is probably more effective. Nothing will "fix" QVCs issues other than shopping here.

Hey @Etoile308    I do remember seeing a thread about a host not knowing what Blackwatch was and I didn't read it so I don't know what was said and if that particular thread contained hurtful or rude comments. Hosts and vendors probably should know that term to be fair but, I guess, sometimes we don't know things we should all the time.

I just made the connection when I heard that exchange this morning between Mary and Kim. So I assumed that Mary was talking about that particular thread since it was such a coincidence.

My point was they are probably reading these forums. I know if I were a host I'd have a hard time not reading but yes online community does definitely go beyond us....

I have noticed that there are fewer posts recently as well @Shanus. I try to pop in most days. I don't engage with posters who seem to start trouble & I haven't started any threads but I try to at least ❤️ to show support or agreement & try to comment when I can.

I have been on these boards on and off since its inception way back when it was called Shop Talk. It was much more fun back then because it wasn't "policed." Many of us became real life friends who spoke on the phone, etc. Times change, I guess, and so do people.

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

I come on here every day to see if there is anything that I'm interested in to post/respond to, but I rarely see anything anymore.

The traffic on here has dwindled considerably since I have been here (about 15 years).  I remember a time when there were so many new posts that I could barely keep up and I had to go back a few pages just to find something that had been posted earlier that day.

Those times seem to be long gone. Now I see the same threads day after day and not much new.  It was fun while it lasted.

@walker

The above is another reason for me not being as active as I used to be.

Several people that I communicated with on a regular basis either rarely post now or have left completely.  Knowing they had serious health problems before, their absence makes me sad.  Having no way to communicate outside of this forum, I'm only left to wonder.

Add to this the vitriol on so many threads.  Also just the fact that I don't buy things like I used to, I no longer have a need to find out information about a lot of the products being offered.

ETA:  Another thing that irks me is posters that ask for advice/information and never come back to their own thread to acknowledge/thank the posters that took the time and thought to respond.  So I've stopped replying to many.

@Shanus  Very interesting topic.  And like others I too noticed  there has been a shift in the "mood" of responses.  Seems like there is a lot of tension, frustration, depression and even anger in more of the replies.  Sometimes ive seen "happy" people get picked on seemingly just for being happy.  And I have seen underlying jealousy in some replies.  It is sad.  😔 The forums  did used to be so much fun.
Since my eye surgery I've been struggling to read so for me I just find posting harder and I'm more inclined to skip posting.  Like many of the long time posters I loved coming here.  I saw so much support and love for those going through tough times.

Maybe for 2025 we can take the time to be a little nicer and less judgmental. Sure we all have an opinion but there's "expressing your opinion" and then there is bulldozing your opinion.
learned a lot from these forums.  I hope they continue and we can get back to having fun and helping others.  Wishing everyone a great day.
