I am fairly new to all of this and did not know forums existed until 4-5 months ago.  What I was hoping to find was positive energy.  Instead I find a lot negativity to replies if you do not agree with the original poster or even with some of the other posters.  When I do post I try to be helpful.  I come here 1st thing in the AM because beachmom rocks with her daily TSV info.

Other than that the other forums like Q Talk and Community Chat I just scroll through once/ 2x a day to see if something catches my eye.  Me personally I am tired of hearing about how people feel about the hosts.  So I bypass anything like that.

As others say it is easy to hide behind the keyboard and be mean to others and I hope that they are not like that in real life.  I am trying to stay away from the negative vibes at this time. Women cutting down women is not healthy and I also do not participate in the Q's age of possibility shows, fb page, etc.

Thank you for asking Smiley Happy

I too get tired of the negativity posts about hosts, and also those who constantly post threads about why we all should NOT shop the Q and should shop elsewhere, and all the data letting us know how the Q's earnings are in the toilet. We don't need to be constantly reminded how you don't like QVC and telling us not to shop here. I will continue to shop here as I see fit.

I actually like the financial data very much.  Not because it shows a lot of problems, but because it also illustrates a lot of impressive good news as well.  It's all how one decides to interpret and pick apart specific line items of the quarterly reports.

Some don't realize the numbers reflect QVC & HSN combined, not just QVC.

The reason I post often about the quarterly reports: I love company financial data -- it's my career background.  I never post to pick the bones off of the QVC carcass.  I think it's insightful information, and yes, very interesting.

I love shopping here even if it's just one of many places I shop.  I want the forum, and I want QVC to prosper for many, many years to come.

I agree, the boards aren't fun. Deleted posts/threads, the ganging up of posters if you disagree with them and uninteresting topics keep me away.
I am on other sites that have a lot more topics, allows more opinions and I can post what I like without 'judgement'

In my opinion, this forum has become a microcosm of the country as a whole within the last few years.  It (the forum) used to be fun, informative and a place where you'd want to come every day, stay awhile and talk about so many things of interest to so many posters.

Now. sometimes I can figuratively feel the meaness of responses to the most mundane topic.  And speaking of topics ... the "what did you wear in high school" surveys are just permeating some forums ... so I just skip on by those altogether.

You can't post anything without knowing you just became a target for somebody!!

Newer posters seem to have more urgency to post "their opinion" which is right!

@Shanus

It may be hard for someone like you to imagine, but there have been a few instances where a poster was singled out for what I call a "crowd strike."  I witnessed one and stood up for that person.  Then another person and I posted about what we thought was the late response from QVC to the victims of a horrible weather event.  I was totally unprepared for the response from a few people, as well as the huge amount of hearts that were given to those posts from some people I had felt I had at least a friendly relationship with.  Sometimes all it takes is one certain very negative person to start things off.

I noticed your post early this am when I came to sign in to get into a friendly and supportive group I have been with for many years.  Oh, and I should mention, before I was able to get into that site to express my gratitude to QVC for posting ways to help folks in need, a few nasty posts again appeared targeting me.  I am so done with this site, and I remain surprised at how many people fell in line with accusations attacking me as a person.  Well, I hesitated to answer your question.  Might even ger replies to this - oh well.

Maybe some people new to this site have noticed treatment of some they find distressing and have no interest in being here.  I do not know.
Thank you, Shanus, you are an asset here.

Pam

Re: FORUM RESPONSES

[ Edited ]

I have noticed that when a lot of new posters come in and voice an opinion, they are immediately hit with a negative response, a downright rude  response or you can change the channel. (Boy, that one is original.)

They usually do not return and I wonder why?! No, I don't post much anymore or respond. The negativity and lack of creative posts keep me away most of the time. Sad. This forum used to be a lot of fun and ideas were bounced from one poster to another...those were the days. Smiley Wink

I want to edit my reply by saying:  There are many instances of posters trying to post creative material on this forum and were hit with such negative replies, they never returned. I have personally discussed this with other posters and it isn't any wonder many of the posters that were here just five years ago have disappeared.

I've also noticed that if the first answer to a post is negative, it starts a chain of more negative answers.  Even when it is marginal!

I noticed....not a lot of new posts or replies to older posts.

I enjoy the forums and have never seen anything that I found upsetting that I was sorry I read -  I can take the good with the bad, but that is me...not eveyone feels the same way.
