I would just like to comment on all of the changes that have been taking place at the Q.  I am only speaking for myself and I don't know the sales figures and which hosts bring in the most revenue so maybe the changes are working. But - I am so disappointed that they seem to be taking a lot of the veteran hosts and moving them to Q2 or maybe just not using them much because I don't see them anymore.  Nancy Hornback & Gabrielle Kerr are my two favorite hosts and since my cable provider does not carry Q2 I never see them anymore.  I am not likely to sit on my computer just to stream the shows although I would occassionaly do that when Gabrielle had her AM Style show.

Just recently I have noticed that Dan is nowhere to be found on the regular Q channel, I always found him to be enjoyable to watch as were Katie Magee & Alberti who are also MIA.  I don't understand why they continue to push the newer hosts at us on the main Q when they have Q2 which seems like it would be a great place to break in the newbies.  As for the hosts that are not new it seems like everytime I turn on the Q I see one of three hosts - in primetime it is Shawn and in the afternoons it is either Kerstin or Jennifer, I know there are multiple threads making negative comments about all three of them and I won't say anything other than I generally do not watch when any of those three are hosting.

Again, this is just my opinion but one of the things I liked about QVC was the familiararity with the hosts and programs and now I feel little to no interest in watching.  Maybe sales have improved since the changes have been made and I understand that is why they are here but I miss the old Q.

@temptations fan  Dan Hughes is still around on the main Q station. He just did a 3 hr show last Saturday and a 1 hr show Sunday. He will also be hosting from 6-9 EST tomorrow morning. If you check the program guide it will tell you what hosts are hosting which shows.

I think QVC is moving away from being a channel that ladies just watch for fun and entertainment.  They are moving toward being a retailer that customers watch because they intend to purchase something.  They have the 3 channels to program to they have move the hosts around.  However, if you check the program guide, you can still find your favorite hosts on QVC.

@temptations fan

I happen to agree with your assessment, although I have different complaints and/or praises for different hosts....who as we know will or will not make sales and will or will not create and draw an audience.  I personally do not like the morning girls take-over of Q afternoon 3 hrs M-Th, they are boring and I will not watch; put them back in morning, these afternoon shows drag and cannot watch!  And now we are inundated with CK in the evening with AS; CK is loud, boisterous and needs to be put back on the overnight!  Watching her with LDelOlio yesterday made me turnoff. Some hosts AP and RB doing gourmet food shows are obviously seeking attention with unprofessional and childish behavior and I refuse to watch. Needless to say the *star* kitchen host displays immature, foolish behavior that QVC takes to the bank; I will not watch. Basically what I will say is the changes have made me see the plusses and minuses of QVC, and I am turning off, watching less and buying less.  I have watched since CVN days because I wanted to make my life easier by buying online, not to watch hosts acting like they are auditioning.  Thank you QVC for saving me some money!

This may be hard to believe but, did you ever think 'these veteran hosts' wanted and/or  want these appearances on the other Q channels as a matter of preference, i.e., hours, time slots, etc.?   Just putting it out there...

And thank you ScarletDove for saving me the time it took to write your words, which were what I would have chosen to say.  You expressed most of my thoughts beautifully.  I do not enjoy, and will not watch, most of the newer hosts.  I don't understand why QVC has chosen them. They are unreasonably loud and appear to be totally self centered. Since Katie Magee, no one new has  appealed to me as a host.  Katie does a fabulous job, but now seems to spend most of her time on the computer during Jill's show.

Yes, I am an older viewer, but don't forget that you built your business on the backs (and in the wallets) of your older viewers, and I suspect that we may still be a large piece of that business.  We didn't watch (as our younger selves) to see squealing egotists.  You presented us with reasonable and knowledgeable adults who captured and held our attention through years of presentations. You have added a few good hosts in the recent past.  Carolyn , Rachel and Katie come to mind.  And I understand that you must now capture a younger crowd to continue at the top.  But I'm not watching much anymore, and as people like me drop off, I'm not sure your screaming group of newbies can (or will) stay and hold the attention and loyalty of that fickle younger crowd. I guess time will tell, but I urge you to exercise more discretion in future hiring and keep those hosts of longer standing visible for your loyal fans and shoppers. The remote is always handy, as are many other internet shopping opportunities.

@chrystaltree  I agree with your post entirely.

I think the first 20 years or so, QVC built its brand on being an entertaining place to come watch and be a part of the QVC family.  Oh, and buy something so we can stay on TV, please

But in the past decade they have competed with the massive proliferation of online shopping.  The number of online shoppers has grown tremendously, and QVC hosts push customers online.  Have you noticed that more & more, hosts are reminding viewers that there are a ton of products online, you don't have to purchase only what you see on TV?  That's a recent thing -- further nudging customers online to browse and buy more & more.

I shop here because I like to, very much.  But that comes with the territory of bypassing more program hosts that I cannot tolerate, and repetitive products that I have no interest in buying.  There are plenty of shoppers, despite my feelings, that have grown QVC into a huge $9 Billion company.

One of their "changes" that I did like, was the addition of Katie McGee.  Now, they seem to have "demoted" her to a "flunky"-type of position.  She was so pleasant to watch on the morning shows with Gabrielle.  Guess they weren't boisterous enough.
