Worker at Distribution Center for QVC in Florence S.C. test positive for Virus. As announced on WMBF-TV. Just an FYI post. Love the Q. Lets hope this is an isolated case.

Is there any such thing as an isolated case of covid-19?

@ChinsIt's unlikely that it's an isolated case. On the other hand, unless I were working in the warehouse near that person, I wouldn't be too worried about transmission on something I'd order.
Given the few days the virus seems to survive on cardboard and how long it takes for that box to reach me - that's just not how I'm likely to be affected. Way more dangerous to walk into my local market and buy a gallon of milk!

I just take it for granted now that anything I order from anywhere could quite likely have been handled by someone (or someones) with the virus.

There are many distribution workers from many different facilities that have tested positive for Covid-19. When I receive any packages they are put in my garage and wiped down before the box/envelope is opened. Then, I wipe down the contents.

I hope this worker is not in any of the high risk categories and can recover quickly.
My friends and I are "quarantining" our mail and cardboard boxes for 24 hours. Any plastic shipping bags, including those from QVC, are quarantined for three days here.
Some people I know are wiping packages down with disinfectant. I don't have any of that, and can't get it, so I'm doing the next best thing.
I used to keep QVC boxes and bags in case I had to return anything. Now they go out right away. If I have to return, I will find an older box somewhere!

Four weeks ago my city had three. All had been traveling and two of the three were married to each other. Today we have 101 cases. The Q. will most likely have more.

I hope the worker has a mild case and recovers quickly. I sincerely hope that QVC has good insurance for all of their employees and takes precautions to make sure this doesn't spread the way it did at that Smithville foods plant.
Every company needs to take extra precautions to keep their employees safe right now. One thing I'm learning from this virus is which companies are doing that and which aren't. It's going to affect which companies I support and which I won't long after this is over.
I treat everything that comes into my home as though it has the virus on it, so this changes nothing for me.

So you're suggesting we may be getting something extra in our QVC packages? I like freebies, but not this kind. ![]()
