Seems like they are having problems with overstock. They seem to have been given a directive to clear out their warehouses and greatly reduce the purchase of new inventory, until this has been done. If that's the case, it doesn't seem like a good sign.

I believe in changing with the times but QVC has changed for the worse.  The CEO likes to make QVC out to be a upper middle class go to shopping site but they forgot their 'bread and butter' buyers along the way.

Many customers were average middle class women who flocked for the Value, Quality and Convenience.  We found new, different and exciting, products we couldn't find elsewhere at reasonable prices.

I used to love the segments with products from other countries, things you wouldn't find on store shelves, the on the road quests for new products, holiday shows for different religions and ethnic groups.

Now, we get to shop IT, Temp tations, Susan Graver, Logo, Isaac Mizrahi, computers, mattresses, etc.

A lot of the vendors QVC used to carry have their own websites and I shop there.  They issue coupons, great sales and offer free s/h intermittently.

I usually check "items recently on air" about 2x daily. I just looked today, before opeing this thread. My exact thoughts were "useless gadgets AGAIN". I have watched QVC for many yrs, this yr seems worse than any yr I can remember. I have more or less said goodbye also.

The Dragon Boat Festival

Chinese New Year

Eastern Orthodox Christmas

AA History month

Designs form Bali

Items from Spain, Germany, UK, Egypt, plus all fifty states

What happened to them QVC?  I'm sure many of us would (I do) in buying something from the above...like we used to.

@MyGirlsMom

I totally agree with you!

I used to love when QVC offered new, innovative products that you couldn't find anywhere else, especially when they did the 50/50 tour.

What's with all the negativity against QVC lately?  I realize how some might feel but this isn't the first post started against the Q..  I find it very curious is all.

I noticed too @Suziepeach. Lots of Q bashing, I even wonder if some of it is by shills for other companies. I think it happens around Christmas time every year.

Nope, the criticisms have been there for years and have been steadily growing, and they're not being posted by shills but by names that are recognizable. One time regular viewers and shoppers are tired of the stale, repetitive array of merchandise, the on-air shrill-fest and the largely non-customer friendly policies. It's as simple as that. The extent to which the once mighty have fallen is never more glaring than during the holiday shopping season, when shoppers are looking for special gifts, not surge protectors, dust mops, ladders, bathroom de-stinkifiers and the same things presented every other time of the year... year after year... and hence there's more of an out-cry at Christmas...

I have an idea-----Why don't we post things we would like to see on the Q?    Maybe give them some ideas of what the consumer wants.

Funny thing about memories.

I remember the early years of QVC too.  I remember many many programs of Capodimonte and collectible dolls.  Lots of dust catchers in my opinion.  I do remember some wonderful programming, but it wasn't all wonderful by any means.

I know even the local B&M stores changed the amount of stock they carried back when the economy dumped.  Suddenly the aisles seemed to get wider between the racks, and not as many choices.  I haven't seen any stores go back to the huge selections they once had.  They seem to find their niche market and work it.

QVC has done a poor job of listening to what their customers want.  With the advent of B&M stores having on line sites as well as only on line stores to suit , you would think they would step up their game.

How many pairs of sensible shoes can QVC present and sell? I like It, BE, Laura Geller, Mally, and Dr. D but not ALL the time. Get some "fresh" companies.

The six month forever Christmas sales are awful.  If you celebrate the holiday, how is the constant selling of 'stuff' make it special?

I'm  "classic" when it comes to dressing and I LOVE jeans. QVC is slowly getting rid of their Classic designers. Why?

I and many other consumers like the free s/h offers, coupons, gifts with purchase and new.
