Backorder vs Waitlist -

[ Edited ]

Hi - Can someone tell me the difference between Backorder vs Waitlist?

Is backorder something they have already ordered more of, and will get it?

Is waitlist we don't know if we we can get anymore or not?

I have two items that went from processing to backorder, and another that is waitlist...  Would appreciate a "guess" on what to expect.

Thank You.

Waitlist means if they get more stock within 45 days they will fulfill your order.  I have rarely not received waitlist orders.

Just received a letter today about my husband's vitamins which have been listed "backorder" since 12/8.  The letter stated they are attempting to get more from manufacturer, but they may not.  This is a long standing auto-ship, so I have my doubts about ever receiving the vitamins.

Though there might be some difference as far as QVC is concerned, from my end it looks lke "six of one, half-a-dozen of the other."

@Mistic

Waitlist - we are requesting the manufacturer to produce more to fulill the list.

Backorder - an item will go to backorder because the inventory we were originally advised of was incorrect. We generally give the manufacturer two weeks to produce/obtain more.

Backordered Vitamins - finally received my supply today (Sat).  If you didn't get them today - they are on the way.

I have always thought back order was waiting for more stock from the manufacturer.  Wait list is filled with returns from other customers.
