Re: Anyone else buying less and less from QVC due to no refund on initial shipping charges?

There are many, many factors that have led me to shopping here far less than I did for quite a few years. Their choice to implement the current shipping and return policy is clearly one of them. It's made me far more reluctant to try an item in which I might be interested but am unsure. It also means when item size or fit is a factor, I'm probably not ordering at all, and that's not solely related to clothing.

I buy because of  good prices, and free shipping, and coupons.  this pretty much limits what I buy from QVC. I very rarely send anything back.

I'm not buying as much because the fashions are uninspired and too many shoes are ugly.

I am not buying much, due to watching less & loss of interest in QVC. Their prices have jumped thru the roof on clothing, which is my most purchsed items anyways. Most of the hosts are unwatchable these day, therefore I have just lost interest. I rarely even come here anymore, since they changed the forums.

It's not so much the changes in the shipping that have stopped me from purchasing as much, it has been the glut of items that are just not fitting and are far less in quality than I was led to believe.  Items not fitting, jewelry that breaks or loses stones, cheap appliances, etc. etc.  Not everything of course, there are some quality items at QVC, but I've had SO MANY items that haven't been and I've had to return that I'm goosey buying something.  I feel I want it but then NAH, I don't want to deal with another disappointing item and have to return it.

I still buy just as much as I always did.  Except for one pair of boots that I exchanged for a different size, I only returned 2 damaged items in the past 10 years.  I very rarely buy clothing so that might be the difference.  I also like the cheaper shipping and for me it has saved me a good bit of money.

The shipping changes have definitely led to my purchasing curtailment. But in all honesty, I have been steadily decreasing my purchases over several years because of sizing inconsistencies, lower quality, lack of variety, and the existence of other online companies who are better in all departments/areas, and who offer free shipping and returns.  The hosting has suffered for sure, so I barely watch now, but that seemed to change permanenty quite a while ago.

Re: Anyone else buying less and less from QVC due to no refund on initial shipping charges?

I buy less on-line every where because I hate to pay S & H.  If I can get it locally, I will.  I prefer to use local shops as it helps my local economy.  Also, I love shopping in person.  If I happen to see something on-line any where, I might look around stores and chances are, I will find something similar.

When I do buy on-line, I try my hardest to not have to return things as I find it a bother and also, of course, don't like spending that extra money.  Case in point, I recently could not find any sneakers that were fitting my need as I am having a medical problem.  I was talked into a pair on-line.  They were very nice but turned out to be not quite what I wanted.  I got free shipping when I purhased them but when I returned them I had to pay S &H.  Which, with insurance, turned out to be almost $12!!!!

I am not a chronic returner but even with one's best efforts, if you buy enough (especially clothing) you will have a return now and then.  My purchases are definitely down; I would probably buy more if I could get initial shipping fees refunded.  I'd also buy more if things were priced competitively.  I think I'm happier shopping at a B&M store for most products.
