There are no words of mine that will ease the pain in your heart, I wish there were.  I am so sad for the loss of your sweet love.

So, I will just say that Mickey will always love you, be with you, be happy for the wonderful life you gave him, and be grateful for the last hardest gift of letting him go.

I hope that soon the happy memories will help ease the pain of loss.  With all my heart I believe that you and Mickey will be together again.

@moon_gazer  I am so sorry.  Losing my precious girl was the hardest thing that has happened in my life, so I can empathize with your sorrow and tears.  It is heart wrenching to have to make that decision. Your MIckey had the eyes of an old soul--I can see how he had (and has) a hold on your heart.  That's where he's lived all along, and that's where he'll always reside.

Here's a poem by Jim Willis that I always have loved about the bond between dog and dog parent. I hope it brings you some comfort:
