@ECBG   I like and eat both, but my first choice is always rice.  If you had included pasta as a choice then I would have a real dilemma with pasta and rice almost in a tie with rice being slightly ahead of it with potatoes in third place.  Luckily I can eat all three!

And even though it is technically a grass, I like wild rice as well.

I have always preferred potatos, although, I like fried rice.

The only rice I liked growing up was when my grandmother's housekeeper made her gravy from fried chicken!  She was an amazing cook.  

She rarely cooked for our family after I was about eight I guess.  I always loved that woman and asked her my "adolescent questions" growing up.

Potatoes, absolutely.  One medium baked potato has 100 calories and a good amount of potassium.  With a little low cal margarine like Brummel & Brown.  I stay away from scalloped and mashed potatoes and other high calorie preparations.

I must admit, though, I probably will pig out on mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving.  Love them.  

Also, love FF, but haven't had in over 10 years. 

Potato chips...forget it...can't stop at just one.

I do like plain rice, too, with a little sugar or Brummel & Brown.  Great for an upset tummy.

Yes, I'll have both thank you! 😊  I prefer rice with pork and chicken, but mashed potatoes with beef.

Potatoes, potatoes, PoTaToEs, pOtAtOeS, POTATOES! 

As strange as it may sound since they have so little inherent flavor of their own, potatoes are one of my favorite foods on the planet. You can do so many different things with them and they are always comforting and delicious.

To be fair, I do enjoy rice, but potatoes will always win.
