Re: Whats cookng in october?

We planned to do our grocery shopping tomorrow but moved it up to this afternoon.  I thought I had a carton of cream, but nope.  We used the last of it this morning.  I've also been questioning that dental crown I had a month or so ago.  Something isn't right.  I called to see if I can get in tomorrow.  The computer program is acting up so I'm waiting for a call back.  I'm keeping the day open.

I have bacon thawing.  We'll have bacon and eggs for lunch with some steamed frozen broccoli on the side.

Re: Whats cookng in october?

Good evening everyone.  We had lunch with Anna yestauday. She made chicken tenders, oven roasted potatoes, Swiss chard pies. Pretty much like spinach pies, and not sure what else. Leftovers Sunday night. Mini muffins this morning, leftover stuffed shells for lunch and I made chicken and rice soup for dinner. First soup of the season. I cut up strawberries with sugar and a little bit of water. Cookies for dessert. Poured this morning but cooled down and sun came out this afternoon. Have a great rest of the night everyone.

Re: Whats cookng in october?

I have been wanting to make pizza for a long while so yesterday I decided to go for it. I had everything in the house ( for a change) and I was alone for the day with my Greyhound, for company. Perfect.

I do not make it frequently ( too caloric ) but I love it!.

Lots of internet research and I finally did it.

Took me a long time, in spite of the quick yeast, which is so convenient to use....time wise.

It turned out greyt.

Glad I finally got it done.

That's such a pretty picture, @lynnie61.

We got our shopping done last night, spent a wad, but now I'm stocked.   I buy the boneless chicken breasts that are portioned in six packs.  I'll need to cut those apart today along with breaking down the packages of steaks and pork chops and vacuum packing them - my job when I get home from the dentist.

I was able to get an 8:00AM appointment with my dentist today.  I'm not sure what's going to happen, if he'll actually work on my tooth today or just examine it and order another appointment for the amount of time he needs.  That said, we're keeping lunch flexible today.  There's bacon left so we may just repeat bacon and eggs.

Yesterday I started researching airfare for a weekend trip next March.  I hate paying what they're charging but we don't want to drive 10+ hrs, each way.  I don't like the tier system either, paying extra for each little thing, including an added fee if your want refund protection.  đꙄ  It does pay to shop and compare though.  United seemed to have the lowest prices by a few hundred dollars.  I will double check everything today before I place the reservation.

ETA - the dental appointment was easy peasy, a bite adjustment was all that was needed.

Re: Whats cookng in october?

Did we skip Fall & land in Winter?!?! So cold & windy here ... 41°. This calls for some hearty eats. Pot roast with potatoes, carrots & onions, dinner rolls, hot cocoa & oatmeal cookies for dinner tonight.

Going through the freezer to see what is good for dinners the rest of the week. Found boneless chicken which will go into stir fry. Italian sausages for sauce in crockpot to serve on bomber buns. So far so good. Have a nice day!
