Re: Whats cookng in october?

Hi friends.  We're back home, got in late yesterday afternoon.  Our time away was such a blessing.  We reunited with old friends from across the country, made some new friends, had some great fellowship, and worshiped under some amazing music.  We ate well, but not entirely "legal".  It's impossible to do that when you're in Amishland. We're back on the wagon, having thin cut ribeyes and some cooked frozen green beans today.

Re: Whats cookng in october?

We are having barbecued spare ribs, baked beans and coleslaw. Beautiful day here, in the low 70's. I am making a huge batch of sauce and meatballs and sausage to put in the freezer. My sister is coming next week and I will give it to her because they like it and she doesn't make it. It will probably be about 6 quarts, that is what I gave her the last time. It's a lot of work, but I don't mind doing it Have a great day all.

Re: Whats cookng in october?

We are having shaved beef, green peppers, onions & provolone on the Blackstone made by DH. Piled on buns dipped in some au jus sauce. Baked sweet potato fries & ice cream with apple crisp. DS is joining us for dinner & requested that dessert. He has been super busy at work & this is his first weekend off in about a month!

I bought a packet of that sauce to try out. We are new to the Blackstone grill. DH has been trying it out. Any tips or suggestions anyone has would have would be appreciated. I have been following their group on Facebook. Lots of info there. Have a great rest of the day!

Re: Whats cookng in october?

For lunch I had Ground beef, peppers & onions on Cuban Rolls.  Didn't think of adding Provolone.  Gonna try that!

and Apple pie!

Thanks for the idea!

Re: Whats cookng in october?

I have a triple batch of candied pecans in the oven.  I used an entire bag of nuts from Costco.  Our DS is having a birthday this week.  We're having a late lunch/early dinner with him this afternoon (probably our usual pizza place).  Normally I only make these pecans at Christmastime but I know he likes them and he never asks for anything.

@Zhills. Hope that turned out well. We are "cheese heads" here in WI so anything is better with cheese!

Re: Whats cookng in october?

We ate out a few days this past week, we usually don't.  Last night we had angel hair, salad and garlic bread.  Tonight I made veggie omelets, home fries and Italian toast.
