Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

Some of my pieces must be 20 years old, some a year old. Never a problem. Love the colors. I never use them in the microwave and use them mostly for dry foods. I use glass for leftovers. If you freeze them, let them warm up before you try to unlock them. They will break. I had one fall out of the freezer. About the tiny ones, I use one for salt in the summertime.

Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

[ Edited ]

I also have some LnL that are over 20 years old and are still as good as when I received them.

I checked my recent TSV set and it seems to be the same thickness and quality of my other sets. I like the smallest containers as I use them to store push pins/tacks, paper clips etc. I use the larger (of the small round) containers to store things like Hidden Valley ranch seasoning (if I keep it in the original jar it would get hard once opened; it stays soft/powdery in the LnL). And I use some of the smaller square containers to freeze portions of things like frozen shrimp. I buy a 2 pound bag and separate it in to portions so when I am ready to cook I don't have to deal with the big bag.

I did get one set recently that was a lunchtime special that was absolutely not the same quality as my other sets. K68413. The largest piece had a crack and all pieces were not the same thickness as my other LnL sets.

Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

I started buying L& L when it was first sold on QVC. I have way more than I need now...had  not bought any new ones in years, but bought a set of two last year because I liked the size. A tab broke off the second time I used it. So disappointed. Never a problem until they started selling the ones with colored lids. You can even tell by how it feels it is different material and much poorer quality. My niece is getting married in September and actually registered for a set of L&L! I was so surprised since she teases me about how much of it I use in my pantry. I hope the set she gets holds up. I may just have to give her some of my old ones...they are still strong and perfect.

Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

I have 20 year old L&L that is like new.

Some of my newer pieces are cheaply made.  The lids fit, but the tabs won't lock down or stay locked down. They pop open.

I use rubber bands to make sure the lids stay on.    Only a few pieces have done this and always with the round containers.

Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

I have many different LnL configurations, both plastic & glass.  Today I was in the midst of eating my lunch (leftover potato salad & chicken breast).  While eating from the glass rectangle divided dish (K48362) and it broke in half in my hand (diagonally across).  Needless to say, my lunch went in the garbage.  This dish has only been used a couple of times as it was bought while I was still working in a school during COVID.  Hence, no need to pack a lunch.  It has been hand-washed and never put in the oven, freezer, or microwave.  VERY DISAPPOINTtING.  There are two more to the set.  Should I throw them away before another accident?

Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

@SEGardener    I have never thought LocknLock was any good or worth the money.  I purchased the cereal containers when they first came out.  They are not air tight and did not keep cereal fresh.  I gave them to Goodwill.

And if I recall correctly, if a piece of Tupperware breaks, the company will replace it at no charge.

And don't drop it.   Lock n lock customer service will basically tell you too bad.

Re: What's Happened to LocknLock?

So agree.  my new purchase was 9/5/2023 TSV.  Warning don't drop them, if they break or crack locknlock will basically tell you too bad.

Warrenty if only manufacture defect.

So how do you know food container product is  defective until you use it?

Within the 30 days but QVC only has 1 set left, seems they cannot help in getting just a replacement piece.

Do I try and find a box to return the whole set,  emptry out the food that is in the freezer and toss it?  or just live with the junk.

Water tight, air tight, freezer safe ? and don't drop it even though I have seen hosts drop them and even stood on them.

My pieces have go back to 2000.

I have had a tab brake off, even had a bowl crack and been able to provide locknlock with QVCs proof of purchase, and id numbers and gotten replacement.

Now bad customer service and the product has cheapened,
