What's Cooking in October 2016?

Here it is October - we had a prepackaged roast with onions, red potatoes and baby carrots PLUS seasoning for dinner last night. Aldi's had these pre-packaged and on sale for $8.00 - bought three of them for that price. Of course Davey finished it up. It would easily serve three adults and to me that was a great price - no leftovers however.  While I love leftovers there are times I do not want them crowding my small Fridge which I bought when I lived alone. LOL. Occasionally I have to toss food and that just kills me.

Now for tonight - of course I do not have a clue. The little girl is still asleep and Ricky is visiting his Sherry and Matt - he adores them He will return either tonight or tomorrow. Now my problem is to get Davey in gear, he is getting worse and worse when it comes to doing anything productive here. Not sure if his Dad is coming by this weekend but if he is I will probably yell at him to try and help as Davey WILL do things if his Dad is behind him. LOL.

Hope one and all have a great day. Preds, you can start this thread any time you want to since you are up so early. Don't be bashful. LOVE your daily greetings!!!!

This is the first morning it's actually been cool and I started off by baking.  Have a luncheon after church tomorrow and making Frosted Chocolate cream cheese brownies and chocolate chuck cookies.  Thinking a pumpkin sausage penne for dinner tonight.  It will make enough for dinner and to freeze a meal.

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

Morning, Thanx @Winifred for getting October started.  I missed the Aldi roast, hope it was good.

It's rainy here, about the 4th day, but supposed to improve.

Supper is iffy, have a leftover roast in the fridge, think I'll make a stew out of it as it was tough, hate to throw it out.

Hope all are well

Winifred, I love those little kits!  They started me using my crock pot with confidence, and you really can't beat the price.

I can't always find them at Aldi, so I do my own with a pork roast, carrots, potatoes and onions.  I just made one yesterday.

Tonight, I'm making pork fried rice with the leftover pork.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Meatloaf is in the oven, and I'll cook some baby red potatoes and green beans to go with it.  So glad fall has finally arrived.  I haven't turned my oven on since April.  I've missed it.

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

I need to get some meatloaves done. Usually bake about three very large ones, cut them in half and freeze them - that way I have meat loaf for some time. Am completely out of it - maybe one night soon. Have debated using the very small pans and make them that way but it is difficult for an old dog to try different tricks. LOL. Have little pans and big ones, probably stick with the big ones.

Went up to the mountains with the little girl - she was rolling and my brother has a jewelry store up there - bumper to bumper with people - some just stopping by but some sure doing business. Planning to stay a bit longer but the little one wanted to rock and roll - NOT be held by old Great Great Grand. I got the message. Pretty up there today.

Hope one and ll had a great day. Am going to have me a fried squash sandwich, yummy!!
