General dishwasher pet peeve

Why oh why can't they improve the method of filling the rinse agent compartment of the dishwasher?  You squirt the stuff out of the bottle into the hole only for it to bubble up and prevent the rinse agent from actually getting into the hole.  You are left with a humongous puddle of rinse agent on the door of your dishwasher and a half empty rinse agent compartment which is going cause your indicator light to start blinking again soon because you couldn't manage to fill it properly.

In the grand scheme of things this complaint is stupid.  However, this morning it's on my nerves.

Carry on...

Re: General dishwasher pet peeve

I was really sick with Shingles, so DH picked out our current dishwasher, and I love it with one exception.  There is no rinse/hold choice.  Sometimes I don't have a full enough load to justify washing, and would love to be able to rinse what's in there and wait to wash until lI can fill it up.  My old one had this feature, and I miss it.

Re: General dishwasher pet peeve

You just reminded me that my rinse agent thing needed to be filled.  I invert the bottle of RA and hold it on top of the opening in the dishwasher, then squirt.

It can get messy, especially if the bottle of RA is full.  If the bottles were made with a type of nozzle at the top it might work better.

In the dish washing section  they  have a rinsing product that is a tiny white plastic basket with rinsing product inside. You just have hage it on your rack. It usually last about a month at my house. I don't know what the name is.

Re: General dishwasher pet peeve

Speaking of dishwasher pet peeves, mine is the detergent pod that doesn't dislodge itself from its little container and becomes a big glob of gooey mess instead.  It really erks me when I spend an inordinate amount of time drying out the little container and pop up lid to make sure that the pod doesn't stick ito it... and, it sticks to it!  Yuck!

Re: General dishwasher pet peeve

My 2-year old dishwasher broke, expensive fix so we went shopping for a new one (last year). I've never owned anything Kenmore but thought, what the heck, maybe I'm missing out on something. So we purchased the Kenmore Elite dishwasher with all the bells and whistles. I HATE it. I really hate this brand! But when it comes to filling the rinse agent I have no problems.

Be thankful you have a dishwasher. I'd love to have one, no room for one here and if there was I couldn't afford it.

I'm happy for anyone who doesn't have to hand wash everything.

There are products I just won't buy because hand washing them would be a nightmare.

I always overflow the container and waste RA.
