Preds, I haven't been fishing in a zillion years - actually since I was in my early 20s. Down in the Gulf of Mexico - I think the monster I caught was a Drumhead - could be wrong - long time ago, but am thinking that was what it was called. Of course you could NOT pay me to eat anything which swims in water. Oh my.
We had Chimichanga burritos. Ricky NEVER ate so well - he ate an entire regular burrito. Wow!!!! Bless him. He had a bad day for some reason so was happy to see him eat that well.

Does a 3 1/2 lb Catfish count? Good day fishing beats a bad day working. LOL
Back to work tomorrow, but today was needed. Saw plenty of wildlife, caught plenty of fish and just enjoyed being alone with DH. We needed it. Now he has fish to eat, I have fish to cook and we will prepare for the holidays ahead. Lordy ... give us strength. LOL
@Preds @Winifred This reminds me of an incident that my MIL told me. She and her DH fished, and once time, when she pulled her line out of the water, an octopus was on it, huge she said, terriefied her, lol, I can understand.
I never fished, but my Dad would take me with him early in the morning. I stayed in the car while he caught crabs and all sorts of fish. At home, would chase me and my Mother around with the crabs, then we would have crab cioppino, he was a Chef.

I love reading about what everyone is cooking !! I will definitely be making the mini pumpkin loaves. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
It is cooler here at night but is supposed to be 85 degrees today, so it's difficult to eat some of the heavier meals/soups right now. I plan on making up a batch of meatloaf this weekend. I mix up the ingredients, line my loaf pans with plastic wrap, and put them into the freezer until mostly frozen. I then remove them and put them into individual Foodsaver bags and freeze. I usually do three or four at a time. So easy to just remove the wrap, pop them back into the loaf pan to thaw and then bake. I can put one in the fridge to thaw in the morning before work and it's ready to bake when my hubby comes in from work.
I have been using my Foodsaver alot lately. Works so great to put in some leftovers that we are tired of eating. Tastes so good later on days when I don't feel like cooking.
May have spaghetti and meatballs tonight with some garlic bread. That's always quick and easy as I keep meatballs and sauce at the ready in my freezer.
One of my fridges died a couple of months ago and I decided to try and get by with just one. Then the remaining one also died. The one I bought is not nearly big enough. I was limited on my purchase as there were height and width restrictions and newer fridges are now taller. I always have to remove three or four things to get to what I'm needing in the new one. It's a pain. May have to break down and buy another one as I love to have condiments, etc on hand for whipping up different dishes.
Happy October everyone !! Fall is my favorite time of year !

We have Hurricane Matthew bearing down on us, and as of the last update, it's going to make landfall over the east coast or just inland. We're in north-central Florida, and we look to be just inside the western edge of the cone. We're under a tropical storm watch here in Marion County. I'm hoping it turns out to sea -- I have too many friends in the danger zone. We moved here from NJ in late '09, so we've never been through this before.
Anyway, I grabbed a rotisserie chicken for tomorrow night's dinner, and I'm going to bake a bit tomorrow so we have things to eat that don't require cooking, just in case we lose power. That's what scares me the most. Next year, we're getting a generator.

@kathya1119 I hope it bypasses you. We lose power, and during a terrible storm, lost it for a week, and me with a newborn. In the end, the power company said so many people lie about having babies that they pay no attention to it. We nearly froze to death. I have been telling DH for years that we should get a generator, but still don't have one. the flameless candles are great during power outages.
I bought two coleman four light lanterns here which work wonderfully, and I use one to see into a dark closet, works great.

The Coleman lanterns work well? I wanted to get them when they were the TSV last year, but my husband scoffed at them and said they didn't look like they put out enough light.
We're older, retired (with five dogs and five parrots -- and one of the dogs is terrified of thunder), but we both have breathing problems (his is long-standing asthma -- so bad when he was younger that it got him a medical discharge from the Army; mine is chronic bronchitis that I've fought at least once a year -- but I've had six bouts this year alone) so we need the AC and power for the nebulizer.

@kathya1119 Yes, the light is very good, and there are three-four so each can be removed for everyone to carry, if desired. DH scoffs at everything I suggest, but I go ahead and do what I think is best, and in the end, he has no choice but to agree that my idea was good, though that is difficult for him to do, lol.

Had green beans, pork chops, onions and cut up potatoes in the slow cooker - very very good. Also had some vinegared cukes to go along with it. Nothing left. Am cooking less and less as I have found it is eaten again in the middle of the night rather than another meal. That I am sure, has rattled some timbers around here. Listening Davey? Just too much food being consumed when it was not necessary.
HOpe one and all are fine - gas person coming tomorrow morning to check the heater and light the pilot.
Dinner tomorrow - may throw the pizza in the freezer from there to the oven. Who knows as I can also change my mind. LOL.

I think your husband and mine were separated at birth. I'll order something, he'll look at me like I'm nuts, and then a few weeks later he thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Lock & Lock 13 x 9 containers they presented on ITKWD last night, for instance. I grabbed a set months ago, and he thought I was crazy (admittedly, I am addicted to L&L -- but we live in Florida, and there are just too many creepy-crawlies here. I need containers with secure tops). Now he loves them -- the deeper one is perfect for the jumbo blueberry muffins from Sam's that he loves so much. He thought I was crazy when I ordered the rectangular/square set with the little dividers -- then he ended up asking me for three of them (I really should order another set if they still have them...).. Then there's the 'You got more Philosophy?" - but he uses the Purity and occasionally uses my Fresh Cream instead of his own body wash (I think he wants to see if I notice).
