@chickenbutt Hi, Lady! Wow, I'd have a ball watching either of those shows with you. We see eye-to-eye.

I love David and think he could do no wrong when it comes to FOOD and suggestions!

I don't really watch cooking shows, but I really enjoy watching the videos QVC posts from The Blue Jean Chef and her The Basics series.
They're short and focus entirely on one thing and that one thing is something made from things most people already have around the house or would use again if they had to make a special purchase for the recipe. I'm at work most of the day and often have meetings in the evenings with team members in Asia. I need options that are fast and easy.

If there is any room on your couch I would love to schooch in as I couldn't agree more (especially about Sunny Anderson). I have tried for so long to find her enjoyable but I just give up and to be honest I don't think I have ever copied over one of her recipes.
One of my favorite shows is Rachel Khoo's on the Cooking Channel. I loved her original one in Paris (her kitchen was so tiny she could stand with her arms outstretched and touch both walls!) and her newer ones are interesting as well. I have copied over several of her recipes and have always enjoyed them (especially the one that she makes dumplings out of day old bread, delicious!).

Ooh, I'm in! What a party. ![]()
I remember when Sunny Anderson had her own show on FN and I tried to watch a couple of times. I know that I'm pretty opinionated, but I DO try to give people a chance. She just got on my nerves so badly that I felt anxiety.
Then, when 'The Kitchen' came along I was interested. I like the rest of the people on the show. But then I saw her and was bummed. Still enjoying it, but with my hand on the remote constantly. ![]()
Chloe's Mom - I think I've seen that 'Rachel' show, on CC, on the Tivo Guide but haven't checked it out. Will have to do so. Thanks for the recommendation.

Loved Galloping Gourmet and Julia and Jaques Pepin back in the day..After all, there WAS a time where there WAS no Food Network, just PBS..
On Food Network, I used to really Enjoy Sarah Moulton when she had an actual cooking show..she is a great teacher..They used to have chefs on a week at a time, for a series of shows back in the beginning..Remebering a very young Aaron Sanchez with his mother, and Nathalie Dupree, Martin Yan, Molto Mario, and lots of others who actually COOKED..those were the days...
Now the cookig "shows" are more like lifestyle segments with recipes thrown in.. and honestly, so many of the recipes seem like the things you read in the local Junior League Cookbooks...

Two of my faves are "America's Test Kitchen" and "Cook's Country". It will be interesting to see the show with the departure of Christopher Kimball. Some people find him cranky but I think he keeps things moving along. I also like Sara Moulton's "Sara's Weeknight Meals".
edited for grammar!

I hope if you do get a chance to watch her show that you enjoy it @chickenbutt. I really enjoyed the series when she was in Paris but I also enjoy the newer versions too. She makes unique, easy to understand and prepare meals that are different from other shows.
I even bought her cookbook a few years ago and brought it in to show a friend who is a real foodie and even he was impressed . . . ![]()
