And we have a kitchen aid hand held mixer small small jobs.after having many hand held mixers we bought a kitchen aid allso of sale. Kitchen aid is well worth it. Re: What Brand Mix Master Do You Use?

For many years I used a hand held mixer (Sunbeam maybe?) but yearned for a stand mixer.  Then I bought one and was very disappointed in it.  I don't remember which major brand it was, just that it didn't scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl well.  What a let down! So I went back to a hand held mixer.

Then about 5 years ago I bought a beautful blue KitchenAid Artisan tilt top mixer and I love it.  It sits out on my counter where I can admire its beautiful blue color, and works perfectly when I use it.  I also have a hand held KitchenAid, which just sits on a shelf because the big one is always sitting out ready to use.

I have owned a a Kitchenaid Pro Series with the bowl lift for many, many years,  i have some attachments that go with it, too. I used to love it.  Since I no longer make traditional bread, cinnamon rolls, large batches of cookie dough or mashed potatoes, it's just sat there unused for the last few years.  I've always kept it on my narrow counter above the set of drawers beside my oven because it was the right size space, and seemingly made for the mixer, but now I'm thinking I should just put it away until one of the kids wants it - which may be never.

Re: What Brand Mix Master Do You Use?

I bought a new Kitchen Aid stand mixer prob in the 90"s from our brand new--at that time--Target store for $169. It is the 5 qt, the very basic model and in white. Before that I think all I used were hand mixers. I don't use it much but when I do, I am very glad I bought it. Would I buy a new one---no, my boring ole white one is fine. I love all the new colors tho--but not enough to spend $ for one. I do have a few attachements to fit that work fine on the old girl!!

Re: What Brand Mix Master Do You Use?

We have had our Bowl lift KitchenAid mixer for over a decade. We have a KA hand mixer for small jobs. Having worked in a kitchen store, for many, many years Kitchen Aid is the best. They were well made, had less problems and almost no returns. We did catering, are from scratch bakers and cooks and choose Kitchen Aid for our kitchen. We don’t leave our mixers out on the counter. They go into the pantry. The only thing on our counter is the coffee maker.

While I enjoy baked goods, I am not a baker.  I have no need for a large mixer.  I purchased a KitchenAid hand mixer years ago and I use it maybe once a year or so.

Re: What Brand Mix Master Do You Use?

On a mixer-related note, I was over at the King Arthur website yesterday and saw they're now selling a GE Profile mixer for $499. I don't think of General Electric when it comes to smaller kitchen appliances, so that's different. Amazon sells a more basic version from GE, not the Profile line, for $100. The Profile one has voice activation among its other features. I guess that could be useful if your hands were dirty. Maybe. I'm not sure GE will be able to carve out a niche in the stand mixer marketplace. It's interesting that they chose to try. And they're targeting both ends of the spectrum with a lower-cost entry-level model and a high-end advanced/pricey model with lots of bells and whistles.
