@SeaMaiden Are you kidding me? This is a joke isn't it?
@Sooner No. I ate them at the Seattle 1962 worlds fair with strawberries and whipped cream as a child....but have never eaten one since. Things like pancakes and waffles seem like odd food choices...especially as an adult. But that is just me. 🙂

I'm not really a waffle connoisseur, so when I make them it's a whole different deal from most people. Haven't had one for a few years but when I did I made them more of a savory deal and just eat the waffle with my hands.
I would grate some extra sharp cheddar and put that in the batter and maybe some bacon, too. I have a very easy recipe (not written by me) that uses club soda and a dash of vanilla. I don't like syrup because it's just way too cloying for me (same for honey - yech), but I do enjoy a savory hand-waffle every now and then! ![]()

Years ago I would occasionally make waffles for dinner.

We have waffles for dinner every couple of months—sometimes traditional and sometimes savory. The combination of the crispy outside and fluffy inside makes just about everything delicious! ![]()

@chickenbutt I don't like a lot of syrup either. I only like real maple syrup and I like just a little--not covering the top or dripping down. Just a little. I do not want a soggy waffle and a lot of syrup makes me sort of queasy.
But I love waffles! Crispy waffles!

Definitely crispy! You brought to mind a time I was at breakfast with my husband and he had, oh I was thinking a waffle but now I remember it was pancakes and anyway he starts pouring this pancake syrup on them and it looked like he was not going to stop. It was kind of sickening, to me anyway, as he poured the whole little thing of syrup on them and they were swimming! gack ![]()

@Razzy 7 I know Breville makes excellent products, however I didn't want to spend over $100. I'm looking for something in the $50-$60 range.
