I have a Vitamix.  It used to sit on my kitchen counter, but now it is in the basement on a shelf.

I never used it.  IMO, it is an expensive blender.

I use my Kitchen Aid food processor everyday and prefer it over the Vitamix.

We don't drink smoothies and I make " real soup" not baby food soup, so it wasn't helpful.

I would be happy to give it to someone who wanted to take it from me.

It doesn't seem to be my better than a standard blender.  It is more powerful and terribly loud, really, really loud, but that's about it.

I cook from scratch everyday and use many appliances, but not this one.

It was a waste of money for me.

I agree that it will depend on what and how you eat.

I use mine every other day to make my own version of vegetable smoothies.  I can make enough for two days.

I have the model they're showing today and I do like it.  The self-clean feature is great, although I still wash it by hand after using that cycle.  And if you make your own nut butter it won't get all the excess off just using the cleaning cycle.

I use my Vitamix maybe once a year.  Wish I had my money back.

I use mine for smoothies, salsa, salad dressing, nut butters, oat flour, spaghetti sauce, puree fresh peaches for homemade ice cream or other frozen desserts.

If mine quit working I would buy another one.

Off to make a smoothie with a little water, apple, frozen blueberries, pineapple & cherries.

I had one and gave it to my DDIL.   It was just too loud for me.  I got a Ninja Nutri and use it every morning for my smoothie.

@Kachina624 Have you ever made gazpacho the Vitamix?  Tomatoes and all the good veggies as spicy as you like it? That's how we get veggies when we are busy.

@Sooner. No, it sounds good but I don't have a source of decent tomatoes.  I've never made any soup in the Vitamix.

I use mine about 4-5 times per year.  It's on a shelf in my pantry and is easy to get.

Mostly it's used for smoothies.

ETA:  I had some trouble with my Vitamix at about 3 years old.  It would vibrate on the countertop when using.  I called Vitamix and since it was in warranty, they sent me a box and mailing label to return for repair.  I think it was the blade in the bottom that got bent from the smoothies I made.

I would add ice cubes to the smoothie, but didn't put ice directly in the bottom.

It was returned in a timely manner and repaired.  It works as it should, but I don't use it a lot.

If it breaks again will be out of warranty, I will not purchase another.

@Kachina624 Actually you can make it in the winter with good canned whole tomatoes. It is so good with celery and cucumber, peppers, lemon and such.  I don't like the ones that add bread to it, but it's sometimes the best way to sip as a drink and get those veggies!
