Takeout Chicken Dinners Comparison

Sometimes we have a salad with cut up chicken strips from Zaxbys (zallad).

On the way home last week, I saw a Mcgoo's Chicken and there were double lines of cars.

If you have had both, which did you prefer please?  Thank you.

Re: Takeout Chicken Dinners Comparison

Zaxby's came to town some years ago but didn't make it here, and I never heard of the other brand. The last time I got chicken strips it was from Raising Cain's in Norman, Oklahoma to feed a bunch of people at an event.  They were good, but that was 10 years ago or so.

The grilled chicken salads at Zaxby's are delicious and low calorie if you get the lite vinaigrette dressing and skip the texas toast that comes with it.    We get those quite a lot when either one of us don't have time to prepair a full meal.

They have a good reward program if you download and use their App.

We don't have a Zaxby's but have ate there when out of town. We ate there 2 different times in May when we went to SC, Ga & Fl. It was not as good as it was last time we were there. The chicken was cooked too long & the fries were cold at both places we ate.

We ate at Rasing Canes which we thought was really good. The chicken did not taste greasy. The fries & chicken were hot & fresh. We ate there when were out of town. We like to try places we don't have here which is a lot.

DH makes oven fried chicken on the air fryer setting in the oven. It's really good.

I like Zaxby’s salads occasionally also , and I love their fries
The grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious my grandchildren almost always order that
We have a LOT of fast food restaurants in town including CFA and bojangles , I’ve never saw a McGoos

for chicken sandwiches , I prefer most others over Zaxby’s sandwiches, for some reason our Zaxby’s get the chicken in the sandwiches too hard and they taste bland
I use their reward program/app and get good rewards

Never heard of Zaxby's or Mcgoo's Chicken, I like Jollibee's Fried Chicken and usually order the 10 pc bucket and make my own sides, plenty of chicken for leftovers.

Re: Takeout Chicken Dinners Comparison

Take out chicken doesn't hold any special place for me--I don't eat fried foods anymore and have never made fried chicken either. Now I have eaten some Asian fried chicken a few times that is wonderful. Where I live, it's Ezells or KFC--am near Seattle. Don't know where the other fried chicken places  from TV commercials are, or if they are even around here.

We love Ezell's for fried chicken, don't have it very often. For chicken tenders we like Popeye's, but don't have them very  often. We eat so much chicken at home, we don't really order fried when we are doing take out. We did try KFC tenders this summer and oh my word...it was inedible and a huge waste of money.
